    @Gary, you almost killed me laughing ...
    @Bill isn't the real one, man! It's just our ArduCopter 3D model.
    My real one isn't so clear, In fact it have some mask tapes around it yet (I used for orientation during the wiring process):

    I think he uses special polish to clean his models before he takes photos of them.

    @Martin: You are looking to calculated 3D caustics by one pass render. Nothing more than pure LightWave3D engine (and some experience to turn it doable, of course). :P

    And the best thing.. even real life it looks just like that. Ok motor have different color and cables close to APM is a bit messier but that's it :)
  • Are those caustics real? Or faked with lights... looks pretty darn expensive :-) good job.

    I'm using Lightwave3D on all steps. From modeling to render.
  • Very nice render; what CAD software do you use? Looks like SolidWorks or CATIA
