Andre, sure those work just fine..

On future official full DIY Kit release we have been planning to include BL2830 style 850 - 1050kv motors and 18-20Amp ESC's and are currently testing different combinations for htose.

I use that same zippy battery on my quads and also my hexas and on my test ArduCopter I use their 3S 2200 Batts..
  • Me too... Jani, any suggestions on motors and esc? I got these and I guess they can be used as start?

Yes due high demand, I have placed small limited run of beta frames available as DIY Asian distributor site called www.PhiFUN.com. There are still few frames left. We estimate that shipping will start at next week.
  • @ Jani

    Could I preorder the frame?

@Morli, hehe Agatha Christie ehem I ment ArduCopter Team. And it's wonderfull to know that I will have first full frame on my hands soon.. Should I post pictures.. well we shall see that :P

@Kevin, frame is mainly made of Aluminum, FiberGlass and PolyCarbonate. There are also Nylon/metal/PolyCarbonate screw/spacers and nuts. Most of material is some type of composite material. Landing gear is made from 3mm PC, on final version it might be 5mm. We shall see it.. Even 3mm is rather strong and take some hard landings before breaking, those screws usually break first and they also work as a impact fuses to main body.

Thank you, we try to do it as best as we possibly can.. There are still many things to do and even from this frame parts are missing. Like said, limited beta frame production is already running and we have already received few pre-orders of them from our most loyal users. Beta frame shipments should start during next week. After that we wait few weeks to get replies back of design. If no any bigger changes. Next patch will be ordered quite soon.

Software is already flyable but far from ready. Currently no official estimates on beta release on software but if this our current speed of development continues, I expect it to happen in next month or so. Currently we are developing common libraries and functions that can be used on all ArduXXXX platforms. Eg. ArduPIlot for fixed wings, ArduCopter, ArduHeli and so on. This is a big task for our library guys due everything depends on those and I can say that they are doing great job on it.

Wiki/repository has already all needed libraries and firmwares for people who cannot wait.. But be careful with that software, I guarantee that there are bugs :P
  • Hi Jani! It looks nice! mine is very similar... when do you think that the beta version of the soft will be available?? :S

Weight of that setup in picture is 162 grams. Ok it still misses some parts like motor mounts, protective dome but they are not heavy.
  • Looks nice and neat. Wonder, what is the total weight of it?
