Kevin Vertucio commented on Shifty Powers's blog post Man, juz70 has got some skills with his OP Revolution!
"Wow. Very impressive skills! I don't think I'd ever have the balls to flip a quad in my house!"

Kevin Vertucio commented on Chris Anderson's blog post "$40,000-$60,000"?
"A lot of these commercial systems are priced at this level. I attended AUVSI this past August and a lot of these companies are selling similar products at similar price points. What local Law Enforcement agencies have the $40k-$60k for that? "

Kevin Vertucio commented on Ita G's blog post OpenPilot Revolution finally available!
"$99 for the Revolution board! No brainer, considering the flight behavior of the CC and CC3D.

Sure there are supply issues for the masses. Quality hardware and software is going to be in high demand. The model of OP is not commercial to make money.…"

Kevin Vertucio commented on Kevin Vertucio's blog post Some FPV from the summer. Testing out OP CC3D on a QAV500.
"I get ~9-10min safely. The Tigers have a prop adapter that is 5mm. Just need to get a 8-5mm adapter.

You should be ok with 3S. Might be a little on the heavy side, depending on your payload."

Kevin Vertucio replied to Barry Nash's discussion Uncontrollable Quad Rotation, loss of control and crash,
"You didn't have any YAW authority it looked like. That was very scary. Wow. Did you try flying in a stabilized or acro mode to see how if you have that same problem?"

Kevin Vertucio replied to Alex's discussion How much interference is normal with FPV video?
"Can you share some photos of your setup? Using the standard whip antennas with 5.8GHz is not going to give good results. 5.8GHz is very sensitive to obstructions and objects infracting on the fresnel zone. Any parts of your frame or lipo obstructing…"

Kevin Vertucio commented on Jason Dorie's blog post Outdoor test video of my latest quad
"Jason, looking good. I completely agree with you guys about simplicity. I have been running copter control for a few months with just gyros and no auto-leveling. Having a well tuned machine in rate mode is pretty much all you really need. "

Kevin Vertucio commented on Kevin Vertucio's blog post My second quad FPV flight.
"@steve, i updated the post with a photo showing how the gopro is mounted on the frame. there are several layers of neoprene tape to slow down any vibration that get through the frame. it works fairly well, the next step is to find an alternate…"

"@ryan, haha! that was actually a lot of "fun."

@johann, i have the camera mounted on a piece of ply with several layers of neoprene tape so it's dampened. that could be why it seems there's a head tracker."

Kevin Vertucio commented on Kevin Vertucio's blog post My second quad FPV flight.
"Johann, I've spent a lot of time tuning and balancing. I am not using a head tracker here and just using the gopro output right now since I am waiting for a dedicated fpv camera."

Kevin Vertucio replied to Paul's discussion Heavy Lift Hexa Build
"@Paul, have you tried disconnecting each individual esc and calibrating? BTW, your hexa looks nice. I finally put mine together too, so I was looking for some tuning help. Are you using a UAP1 frame from Rusty? I have the same.
