If you are going to use a GoPro i would suggest looking at these, as they are less than half the price of the ones you are looking at. I have used them, and the solid shaft version for several custom GoPro3 gimbals, and they work pretty darn well.
Was it any problem to use the Tarot controller with motors other than the ones that com with their gimbal? unless you are wanting to go with a third axis at a later point I would go with the Tarot. Small form factor and fully configurable as well.

None at all David. The Tarot GUI is pretty configurable. Just make sure everything is dialed in properly and you should be good to go.
