    I've now added globs of hot melt glue to stabilize the connections.


    Making an FTDI to EM-406A or Mediatek adapter cable. Pin 1's are at the bottom of both in this picture.

    FTDI side--------------------GPS side.
    6 = green=RTS
    5 = yellow=RXD --> 4 = TX
    4 = orange=TXD --> 3 = RX
    3 = red = Vcc --> 2 = Vcc
    2 = brown = CTS
    1 = black = ground --> 1 and 5
