  • But I do have this mount in solid works if you want to try printing it.  This mount is for 16mm tubes, and up to 35mm motors.  As you can see from the picture the mounts have good tolerances.  

  • No, they are injection molded.  Takes less than 5min to make.  They are composed of a mixture containing lightweight plastic casting resin and fiberglass for (white mount pictured), and graphite (black mount, not pictured).  We sometimes bake them for up to four hours to reach peak hardness and temperature resistance.  Until 3D printers can print comparable materials at the same speed I am sticking to the old fashioned way.
