Close up of Spring Mount Mock up posted. This was a quick little change from the traditional rail mount. I need to spend a little more time qetting the design cleaned up but it shows promise.
:)), I can almost swear that prop won't clear. , Keep us informed of the progress and some videos of maiden too.

Wow I just noticed. It does look like the prop won't clear. Optical Illusion I guess. When I pulled the motor it had a 15" folding and that just barely nicked the ground .
Prop is 12x7 and wings level clears by only about 2". I think a 3 blade 10" will work for grass strips. The motor is an e-flight power 32 pulled off a larger skylark build. I haven't decided what to use on this one yet, Maybe the stock rimfire from the electro stick or a power 15 or 25 would probably do just fine. I tried to keep the same specs and relationships as the original with the exception of lenthening the tail moment but 1.5". The pod is spring mounted which should be interesting. It really helps when I taxi but in the air may not be such a good thing, I'll have to see. The CG was easy to obtain by moving the pod forward along the rail and with all the weight being carried 3.5" lower then stock it should be more stable. I can't wait to maiden. Hopefully weather will cooperate. I'll post video regardless of the results. Should be interesting!

Small aluminum spacers guide the machine screws through the blocks. Cost is about 4.00
