When the THERMAL SCAN mode is enabled, the FX-61 Phantom wing,
piloted by the ThermoPilot is able to do a full autonomous
thermalling in a cylinder of specified radius delimited by
a ceiling altitude and a floor altitude .
This e-glider can fly as long as the thermal updrafts exist
in this area...

Yes, this is done with my algorithm, if the thermal bubble is drifting with the wind the glider is able to follow the thermal bubble. I have some data log which have proven this many times.

Hi JL,
Just wondering. Did you consider drifting pockets of thermals, floating downwind? Searching on the upwind side would be better, so when found, the glider can float along the thermal downwind.
