zagi bottom

Bottom of Zagi, this plane went through a couple different configurations, tough plane too. Am now flying 5ft zagi, but currently looking to build pod and make some foam wings 4ft similar to zagnuts and the designers planes. New goal of it is aerial video and p/s plane with uav capability. Once those ardupilots get a little more sorted. ;)

  • Homemade with hot wire and some white bead foam plus 2 pieces of wood on sides to make wing curve, there is a guy on rcgroups that makes all this stuff out of white bead/some epp who's on ebay, you should beable to search him up pretty easy... wingcores or something like that, but his wing design is more for speed, I make mine slightly wider, slightly thicker for slower flying with more weight. Takes about 10-15 min to crank out 4-5 wings(one side) out of single 2x8 piece of 2in white bead foam. Great and cheap way of making disposable retardly strong and durable wings,.

When taping wing, best stuff i have found is 3m's surgical tape called blenderm, it's light, sticky, flexible and you would need about 2 rolls to fully cover top and bottom. the carbon fibre in the wing above helps strengthen it but you can go without if ur dooing a light wing and not much agressive flying. the carbon fiber will affect radio tx rx on the wing, i pretty much suck up he couple extra grams now and just slide in balsa for less issues. the thing with the clear tape is, you can see all the stuff, need to fix something, slice into tape, pull out or make new incisions then put another piece of blenderm over the cut area and your done.

    Good luck dude!

Really easy and cheap to crank out stuff, works on blue core too if u need to make fuse etc.
