Actually their hardware is not fully compatible as they use few wrong components on their assembly. I've seen several of these.
Buying from us 3DR/jDrones and others you will contribute back to development effort that we are doing. Sure you can buy parts from somewhere else but don't expect them to be identical for what we are doing.
Speaking of chinese manufacturing, most of fabrication houses in china are using Japanese pick&place machines and they lay from 20.000 - 60.000 points per hour. But that's another story :)
Their site has some bad English in the description
"The ArduFlyer is a complete open source autopilot system. Its design come from 3DRobotics and it 100% compatible with APM2.5. It allows the user to turn any fixed, rotary wing or multirotor vehicle (even cars and boats) into a fully autonomous vehicle; capable of performing programmed GPS missions with waypoints. This version comes with the RC/Servo connectors unsoldered, so you can choose between straight or right-angled ones, both of which are included."
Is it not mysterious that peeps complain on this subject but forget that Bell Labs invented the transistor, Edison the light bulb, Newton the laws of physics that the APM and many, many others are based on, Henry Ford, the assembly line? Point, is it not arrogant to complain of copying without recognizing that all modern achievements are based on "copying" some brilliant guys stuff to get there in the first place? Competition breeds creativity and generally lower prices for all. The dinosaurs did not recognize change, let us hope we embrace it and say, "Let the games begin", before we utter words that would impede the essence of technical and economic advancement.
I would not characterize my prose as complaints or sarcasm--or VC's as 'sinister', these are strong words. In fact I love VC's. Now if I were to say something like "I could take you a lot more seriously if you'd remove that sausage from your buns" That I would call sarcasm, & unproductive. I would never say such a thing. I imagine you are perhaps one of many heavily invested in something you would like to see as positive with a promising future.
Nor would I ever bother forming a tabs management committee in attempts to challenge the product placement strategy for a site owned by a couple of guys & a couple of bankers looking out for their ROI. That would be futile & utter nonsense.
"However, just to be clear: I'll still run the site, and my own priorities and vision will continue to influence site design and organization (I'm a former mag/web editor, so you can imagine these things matter to me). I'd be delighted to see more of other projects discussed here, but I'm not promising that all projects will get equal billing in the limited space of tabs and the front page. "
Of course you seem to know a lot about me, so maybe I'm wrong. You are making me feel quite confused about myself. I am getting dizzy.
Hey, if you want to build on PX4 that's great. Go ahead and do it - no one is stopping you. If the community believes in what you're doing, they'll contribute to it as well.
I don't think complaining and making sarcastic comments is going to get you where you want to go.
You think the tab order should be changed? Start a discussion about it. If it's something a lot of people feel strongly about, they'll chip in. I don't think a sinister VC is dictating the tab order.

Check this clone out http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/product_info.php?products_id=10616 it even printer 3DR on the back of its board.
These oaks is going a bit to far.
Excellent measurement DS!, perhaps a Kalman horseshit filter should be standard safety gear for any bot flying in the vicinity of humans.
Looking at these reports as whole, a few wrong components is just as probable in making it work better than worse.

This is true. But it is right if someone claiming authorship of the discovery and development of Newton or Ohm?
Apropos the assembly conveyer line was invented Ransom Olds not Ford :)
