Cheap CNC opportunity

itsalive2.full.JPG?1294473734
I just wanted to post this here to let the DIY Drones community aware of this limited time opportunity to procure a complete small scale CNC kit for $390 or an assembled version for $520 on kickstarter.com. This opportunity ends MONDAY JAN 10, 11:59PM EST. I am not associated with this project but I think it is pretty neat what the MyDIYcnc.com owner Stephen McGloughlin is trying to do with it. Check out his kickstarter page for more information.

  • Did this ever go anywhere? I curious about procuring one, maybe not this one, but still wondering how this went nonetheless.

I'm using this Hobby CNC Machine works great for Carbon or Alu sheets.

  • Thanks again! I can't wait to build one of these!
  • This is another really good site for cnc machines and other things

  • Great site! Thanks!
  • For starters check out buildyourcnc.com.  He gives free plans and videos for the build plus he sells kits in various forms. also if you poke around on that site you will also find links to other sites for other design, some free some not.
  • Hi KKUSA, can you recommend some plans for a diycnc similar to this or a little bigger. Thanks.
  • I really do not understand this project. Nothing new here. There are literally hundreds of mini CNC machine designs such as this out there.  Just build one guys, tons of plans out there.  You can build a bigger, better one just as cheap. I have built several based on 80/20 extrusions about this size for much less.

The $520 assembled is very doable considering its construction, which (no offense to Stephen) most will not be happy with. Seen/built way to many of these types of machines, I know what works well and what doesnt.

However, I am a machinist/cnc programmer by trade and have used the best of the best, so my expectations may be a little high when it comes to this stuff.
