  • Jack, i think you mean thinner, not shorter.
  • The Cri-Cri first flew, if I recall correctly sometime in the early 70's (or was it early 80's?).

An example fitted out with RC jet turbines can be seen on:

.... the picture here gives a better idea of just how small it is - smaller than some large scale RC models!
  • Jack I always wondered how an average american looks like?:)Or an average human ?Or an average mammal

    Batteries sizes are universal :)
  • Europeans are a lot shorter than us. Doubt the average American would fit in there.

Well I'm sure they will change that, perhaps with a fuel cell. The point is the airframe has already been approved for flight. OPVs are rolling out already. The DA42s licenced pilot can take it to a hot spot and then pull all the gear out. Setup the GCS fill it up with fuel and send it off. http://www.suasnews.com/2009/08/19/opv-optionally-piloted-vehicle/
  • Looks nice, but with 30 minutes of autonomous flight ( so no humans and the compartment stuffed with batteries, I presume) it doesn't last very long.
