FrSky Taranis Setup 6 Flight Modes plus 1 for APM Ardupilot

Using a FrSKY Taranis X9D, we have been mixing different switches and testing 7 flight modes. RTL on a one-switch return home and 6 other flight modes.   We have included our video logs of how we set it up.   You can use any switches following our3689554728?profile=original example. Since there are so many 3 position switches on a Taranis, you can spare one for a mix.

 

With 6 CS switches, you can next easily assign sound files to each flight mode.  We will also include the sound files (voice) of all the flight modes in the next video and a link to download them.  Maybe someone will find these useful.  Cheers!

    Fixed up, seems like the first load didn't take. I now have 6 modes!

    Thanks noeL I've done this and it works, however when SG is position 3 (down), I'm in mode 6, which is manual, which can not be changed. I can't figure out how to engage mode 6 when SG is in position 1 (up). I'd like to start in manual mode, with all the switches up. I've tried simply chancing CS1 and CS3 but when I use SD some modes are not reachable.

    Any assistance appreciated.

    Thanks for the feedback.  I was going to suggest remove the delays and see what happens.  You should be okay removing the delays.

    Brit: Thanks for help to clearly explain the issue.

    noeL and Brit: I try to eliminate the 0.5s delay in the "custom switch" page and it seems solve this issue in my Taranis. So is there any special reason to put the 0.5s delay? Because I usually assign flight mode 6 as RTL and for sure I don't want the copter go into RTL when I switching mode. Thanks everyone help me to look into this issue.

    Issac: I have this issue as well, and am looking for a solution

    noeL: It is ep 28, near the end of the video, when you are demonstrating all 6 flight modes. Watch carefully, each switch first goes to FM6 and then to the desired one. Is it possible to not do this?

    Hi Isaac

    sorry, which video are you referring to?  On Ep 28 video, it seem to just go to the first flight mode, where your first position switch is set to.   If I recall right, Taranis will not allow you to proceed until all your switches are on first position, but you can overwrite the warning message.

    We don't have a Taranis to check right now, until the next one arrives, as that one was shipped away after the build.

    Hi noeL, How come the flight mode will always first switch to the flight mode 6 before switch to the correct flight mode as shown in the video?
