Dear DIY Drones Community, please take a look at Pilotanywhere, http://pilotanywhere.com/
Technically, it's a cloud based GCS for vehicles communicating over MAVLink. It uses various tools, among others DroneKit. Regards, Waldemar.

We kept it very general. Any platform running the ArduCopter (or APM:Copter) flight controller should work. Basically, Pilotanywhere sends pre-configured MAVLinks messages (using DroneKit) to the connected platform, see our note here http://go.pilotanywhere.com/help.
We've extensively tested the platform using SITL and the 3DR Solo, if you are looking for this information.
If you want to make your own test, set up a SITL instance on your local machine and forward its MAVLink messages to our servers using MAVProxy and then use Pilotanywhere to connect to your local SITL instance. You will find details for this, in your Pilotanywhere account. Note that you have to define and upload the location.conf file to our servers as well, as for a real platform, to perform this SITL test.
Let me know, if there are any further questions.
Your website is a little thin on the platform requirements.
