Vertigo V.2 - affordable drone zoom gimbal

Hi diydroners!

After a few months filled with hours of work we came up with the new version of affordable drone zoom gimbal solution for all diy users. We call it simply Vertigo V.2.

We listened to your feedback, which helped us in the biggest way possible, that is why there are lots of improvements laying underneath the new edition.

The V.2:

-We had a lot of emails with questions about different types of camera inside the gimbal. That is why V.2 is capable of containing several camera cores such as: 27X SD, 36X SD, 30X HD, 18X HD with video recording functionality, and 10X(with recording) + Thermal camera core, and more.

-We also made a gimbal version with increased yaw motor size which brings even more stability to the video than before. Now with the new aerodynamic design the gimbal is suitable to work on bigger aircrafts with cruise speed up to 60mph.

-The new construction and new material allows us to operate in high temperatures for as log as 8 hours with stable functionality all the time.

-The gimbal controller is now 32 bit board rather than 8 bit.

-We managed to upgrade the sensor so there is no I2C connection to IMU anymore, and the data is stable and reliable all the time!

-Overall, the gimbal runs smoother and the electronics are more reliable.

-All gimbal axis have physical end stops, for ease of use.

-We introduced first version of V.2 30X HD with digital image stabilisation

-We also introduced customisation service, that allows us to deliver better solutions for your projects

We are making progress everyday, and we should soon be ready with new products. Here is a tiny sneakpeak:

@Rob, thanks for the info - pity about that!

@Greg, thanks so much, I'll definitely consider upgrading! Thanks for your great support in the past, it really made the difference.

  • @Laser Developer: thank you. This is in fact a great concept. Can i ask you to ping me with your address vie email ( We would really like to consider such a project and need some details, ok?

@ Vladimir "Lazy" Khudyakov: mail dotarł, niebawem do Pana odpiszę :)

@Hein du Plessis: Hi Hein! V.2 is the version that will satisfy your big bird needs. Yaw motor, controller and aerodynamic body are all upgraded to the level that will provide you with great experience. The new controller allows us to setup better parameters, more suitable for planes which banks more than 45 degrees.

Please contact us via email, if you are interested, and we will offer you a really good deal, as you were our customer before and we need to see your full satisfaction :). We would also love to see videos from V.2 and your plane.

  • @RPM i am attaching the chart from one of the tests. Generaly The gimbal behaves like this: through the first hour the temperature gains, and then after reaching it's working levels it stays like this forever. We performed several tests, and the gimbal is always stable.

  • Hein, that's too bad.  I assume it's the same problem as what causes the horizon level issues on multirotors, but just multiplied many time due to typical flight profiles of an airplane.

It's too bad, it's a problem that plagues all the open source controllers.  It's the lack of GPS fusion into the AHRS.  They have been told this many times, but just seem to REFUSE to employ any of the solutions available freely from the open source autopilot systems.

I don't know why.  Is it because they just don't understand the concept?

Wonderful, I've bought and used a couple of your previous models:

But found that, on a fixed wing, it get's confused when banking at 45 degrees or more.

Is your new controller more robust ?

    Thanks for your great work!

  • @Greg - very nice work. Would you consider adding a laser range finder as an option? We have a very small unit going into production that would fit neatly beside the camera. Some of your customers might be interested in seeing the range to the targets that they are looking at.

  • Looks like a great product! Question about the statement;

"Vertigo V2 is made from highend ABS-PETT material. It enables it to work for more than 6hours or more nonstop!"

Is this the limit of how long you tested it? When it stopped working? Something else? More details there please.

  • Hi @Pablo, the basic prices available are here

If you need anything more or custom just email us

    Best To You!
