Hi All,
Before posting an issue or a problem in the ArduRover Discussion Forum, please check the wiki table of contents, review the firmware release notes in the subforum, and search that subforum for existing answers to your question. Help avoid duplicate threads by finding other members with the same issue and their solution.
When formulating your post, use a descriptive title such as "rover will not navigate to waypoints in the Auto mode" (not "HELP!" or "Problem").
Please include the following information to help diagnose your query:
- Describe the problem you are having. What is the expected verses the observed behavior?
- Provide hardware information such as the brand and version of your autopilot, GPS, radio, and compass, as well as any other pertinent details about your rover setup.
- What version of the APM: ArdurRover2 firmware version are you running?
- For navigation issues, provide your tlog and/or dataflash log. Click here for instructions on retrieving a dataflash log.

I've got a simple question. My ESC has a BEC rated at 6v 1a and it seems to be able to power my APM2 board and outputs. I know 6v is a little high but is there a real difference between 5 and 6?
A Google wiki syntax tip for those editing the new ArduRover wiki: Any text that's "CamelCase", like "ArduRover" is interpreted as a link. So to avoid it adding a linked question mark after words like ArduRover and ArduPilot, add an exclamation point first: "!ArduRover".
Hi Thomas,
Yeah, I think I saw some of the article. Don't have the reference here. Seebot?
I've found some simple code to do the job. I get how it works, I think I'll see how well my compass and GPS work until I can get ArduRover.
Best Regards,
Alan
@Linus: soldering the caps right to the back is ok, but makes mounting hard. I did an inline 10uF electrolytic on a protoboard and shrinkwrapped it. I was using one IR sensor as a curb detector; seemed to work ok in sunlight testing. although haven't really tested autonomously.
I'm working on a tiny i2c adc board that could be stuck inline very close to this or other sensors for lower noise. going to do 8, 10, and 12-bit versions. i2c address can be changed with solder jumpers; up to 9 devices per bus.
Chris,
I looked at the structure last night. I will be working on it this weekend.

I've made some progress on the ardurover manual here. I could use some help! (PM me for edit permission)
@Chris Anderson:
found a tutorial on modding the sharp ir sensor to get better results, will try soon if i get my apm-board running again.

Tom, I did describe it in JLN's ArduRover thread, but briefly, I found I was getting too many false positives, so I turned it off. I need to find a way to turn down the sensitivity, especially in bright daylight.
Chris,
Can you tell us about your experience using the Sharp IR detector during the Sparkfun AVC?

OK, knew what PM was, didn't see the inbox until you pointed it out. No messages in it!
