Before Posting an Issue

Hi All,

Before posting an issue or a problem in the ArduRover Discussion Forum, please check the wiki table of contents, review the firmware release notes in the subforum, and search that subforum for existing answers to your question. Help avoid duplicate threads by finding other members with the same issue and their solution.

When formulating your post, use a descriptive title such as "rover will not navigate to waypoints in the Auto mode" (not "HELP!" or "Problem").

Please include the following information to help diagnose your query:

  • Describe the problem you are having. What is the expected verses the observed behavior?
  • Provide hardware information such as the brand and version of your autopilot, GPS, radio, and compass, as well as any other pertinent details about your rover setup.
  • What version of the APM: ArdurRover2 firmware version are you running?
  • For navigation issues, provide your tlog and/or dataflash log. Click here for instructions on retrieving a dataflash log.

    Tom,

Thanks. I thought I might just be handling it wrong, but I keep running out of battery before I feel confident I'm doing everything right. I have gotten it to run a half-circuit at times with two of the last three git pulls I did, but I generally end up having it circle endlessly when I think it should be headed for a WP. Once it starts doing that, I start over with learning, but generally don't get far. I have logs, but wanted to get in some nice clean runs before I shared in detail, since I cannot make easy sense of it yet and don't want anyone else going through any pains to do so either.

    Hi All,

A brief note to inform you that the "learning" mode appears to be definitely broken in v2.30 alpha and possibly in v2.20b also.

    Hi All,

There has been an update by 3DR to the MediaTek V2.0 configuration so I have attached the updated version of the ArduRover v2.30 alpha firmware.

For those of you who would like to use a gamer's joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) and roll your own transmitter here is a good project thread over at RC Groups that explains how to do so: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1704110

I have a Spektrum plug in module that I can use for the transmitter so all I have to come up with is an Arduino Mega, USB Shield, 16X2 parallel LCD, and some miscellaneous parts and I will be good to go.

    TCIII

  • Delayed response, I "lost" this post!

OK, I can use the PWM read function, I've got the other ones covered.  Too bad this store is out of stock.  I'll look around a bit.

It would make a great PIC or Arduino project, if I had the time!  Can't take much to knock out a little code to read a servo and display the pulse width!

    Best regards,

    Alan

Hi Carlos and all new members,

Welcome to the ArduRover User Group.

As a start towards building your own rover, I suggest that you thoroughly read all the pages of JLN's APM Rover2 discussion, all of the discussions in the ArduRover User Group Discussion Section, and all of the comments in the ArduRover User Group Comment Wall. After doing that you should have a pretty good idea of what you need to build and program your own rover. This is a DIY Forum and most members do not have the time for a lot of hand holding. You need to come to us with meaningful questions after you have exhausted your own skills and resources.

    Regards,

    TCIII

  • Hello everyone, thanks for integrating this group and for reading this message. -
I am studying to develop a vehicle platform ARDUROVER, and you can keep a list of waypoints, but also the vehicle must be able to take information from various sensors and sent to a computer via GPRS, I'm new to the forum and therefore there are many doubts how to start. -
I would like, I can help with a guide or manual on how to start, meaning that I buy and that fits perfectly and is scalable hardware and software level. -
I am very excited about this vehicle, "a dream of many years ....". -
I would appreciate if you would be so kind, without obligation, send me this information, somehow the "step by step ..." for armed. -
They are very kind from and remain at your disposal. -
    A big hello ....!!. -

skid steer vehicle steering uncontrollable

Hi all, I have a skid steer robot using a pixhawk cube, one 1x15 roboclaw motor controller and a dagu wild thumper 4 wheel chassis. I have skid steering working so far, testing motor c and motor d tests works as described and the vehicle can be controlled in manual mode. However, upon using any mode other than manual mode the rover wants to shake and pivot on the spot, and it seems the steering PID controller oscillates and these oscillations get larger. i have tried everything but it is still…

Traxxas X-Maxx ROVER ESC advice

Hi,I have converted a Traxxas X-Maxx into a rover using the Pixhawk Cube 2 controller kit with a Here GNSS.I swapped out the original X-Maxx remote controller for an X6R receiver and Taranis QX7 radio.latest version of ArduRover firmware installed as of 8/11/18.  The rover has an EZRun Max6 ESC. The problem now is the ESC control over the transition into reverse. The ESC is currently set to it's Running Mode Option 2: "Forward/Reverse with Break", AKA the "Double Click Method".What this mode…

Help! No throttle or steering response!

Hi all.I know this is an Adurover group, but Thought I would reach out and try my odds for some help as I'm perplexed by this problem. I have a Traxxas X-Maxx set up with a Pixhawk Cube 2.1 and the Here GPS. I'm using a Tarranis X7 remote controller and a X8R Sbus Receiver. I'm using QGroundControl with the latest, Pixhawk 1.8.0 Firmware with the Generic Rover airframe profile installed. As instructed, I have Steering servo wired into Main 2 and Throttle ESC wired into Main 4. Sensors are…
