Hi All,
Before posting an issue or a problem in the ArduRover Discussion Forum, please check the wiki table of contents, review the firmware release notes in the subforum, and search that subforum for existing answers to your question. Help avoid duplicate threads by finding other members with the same issue and their solution.
When formulating your post, use a descriptive title such as "rover will not navigate to waypoints in the Auto mode" (not "HELP!" or "Problem").
Please include the following information to help diagnose your query:
- Describe the problem you are having. What is the expected verses the observed behavior?
- Provide hardware information such as the brand and version of your autopilot, GPS, radio, and compass, as well as any other pertinent details about your rover setup.
- What version of the APM: ArdurRover2 firmware version are you running?
- For navigation issues, provide your tlog and/or dataflash log. Click here for instructions on retrieving a dataflash log.

@RoboBill, I suspect my GPS/Compass accuracy issue revolves around the setup being too close to the motor. An now I have 2 motors, it would be worst. The new platform I am going to is a Motor on Axle an a wheelbase of 38 inches on a 1/5th scale comp crawler. This should solve my problem.
Good point, if they are modifying them, I would like to submit mine for a change.
@RoboBill,
You need to ask Hobby Town if they are modifying the DX5e themselves and if they are, does it void the Spektrum warranty?

John...regarding your GPS accuracy issues... same here... and I'm waiting for the shipment of the RTK GPS Piksi from Swift Nav hopefully mid April.
Hmm. I also am a NOOB an am not willing or able to spend the cash on a good Tx with a 3 position toggle. I have the telemetry setup, I tried to setup my rover to go into learning via PC an when last I tried that wasn't working as you can not over ride the switch.
In the end, I had to pull my setup off my RC as I am looking at a new platform which I think will work better to combat the issues I was facing regarding GPS an Compass accuracy.
My next Tx will come from HobbyKing an I know its a clone, but its cheap. Considering my rover is on the ground an going slow, not too worried about crashing.
Good Luck in your build,
John
Yes I am sooo puzzled cuz I searched for days trying to find a cheap alternative to my "regular" DX5e. I even replaced the 2 position switch with a 3 position switch and a resister... but that failed... and I couldn't justify spending $300 for a Dx7. Plus I'm a real drone newbie and any other brand scared me off.
BTW HobbyTown is an authorized Spektrum dealer so I'm confident I got the real thing but I'm still confused why I can't find anything on the Spektrum web site
I just visited Spectrums web site to look at the spec's for the DX5e. There is a disclaimer about counterfeit Tx's being sold. An they are showing the DX5e with a 2 position toggle for ch 5. Frankly, I wouldn't care if I bought a counterfeit as long as it had a 3 position toggle. ;-)
RoboBill: If its too much hassle I will trade you my DX5e with a 2 position toggle for yours with the 3 position....lol :-)
Just bought a Spektrum DX5e from HobbyTown in Concord, Ca. with a 3 position channel 5 switch. ($60) I thought the 5E had only 2 positions for channel 5. With an AR610 RX, my PPM encoder and a little tweaking of the parameters, I've now got learning mode.
Yes I was able to stop it manually, but then it would slowly start to backup again while gaining speed.
I am currently using the 2.45 that has the skid steer working
