Becoming a Documentation Editor!

Welcome! Documentation editors play a key role in the DIY Drones community. Our ongoing discussions and efforts for the Ardupilot.com sites can be found here at the APM Wiki Editors Discussion Group. The best way to get involved in documentation is to pay the Editors Discuss group a visit, request to join the group, and start participating!

If you'd like edit permission on the Ardupilot.com manual sites, to fix or add something, please join the group above. We'll send you an introductory email with information about how to get started editing the APM Wikis.

This group here on DIY Drones has mostly just an organization role; it's a way for people who would like to join the documentation team to register their interest, and to show them the correct steps in getting started.

  • Chris, I registered on Ardupilot a few days ago and still can't access the site.  Did I miss a step?

  • aeromod71 has put together a French translation of the Plane wiki!

    https://code.google.com/r/aeromod71-traduction/

This complements the Russian version from alexeykozin22-ru

I started a Translator thread over in the new forum, this is important work! If anybody else can help in these types of efforts, please let me know.

  • Thanks for the reports Gary, we'll get her working consistently.

  • The New Wiki is back up again, but when I tried to register for the forum for the second time, it still failed to actually send the Activation Email even though it said it did. Two tries.

After you submit the form, it waits (waiting for ArduPilot) quite a while and then says Activation Email sent, but it never gets here.

Might want to look in to that.

  • I notice that the New Wiki and other attached stuff is down again with a MySql problem.

Is this is a pernicious problem beyond our control or is it something we can fix or get beyond?

If we can't fix it, I am wondering if this is such a good idea.

Inadequate though the old site is, it doesn't seem to spend nearly as much time in the toilet.

I've registered on the forum.  Now, how do I get edit access? Some (OK, a lot) of stuff seems to be missing from the instructional pages (manual), especially, APM 2 hardware stuff, and more. I can help to add/modify/add photographs.

I have a nice studio setup at my place, so if anyone needs photos of any hardware taken for the wiki, just PM me :)

  • Check out this blueprint for a basic structure to fit all this in, this order makes a nice progression through the steps.

As John C. said, we need to make sure the structure is solid and all the content is moved over into it, before we can polish all the details.

Yes. The wiki and forum was out because of a problem on MySQL server. Now it's up again.

  • WordPress site back up!

Wordpress site seems to be down.
