About Me:

I'm 22, based in Atlanta, American/German/French, and studying Electrical Engineering. I still have a lot to learn, but hope to constantly gain experience through hands on and studying.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I've had interest in it for a while, but ultimately after watching the U of P videos back in 2010. I've been studying hard and after gaining some circuit experience I decided that UAV experience would help with my own studies, as well as be an enjoyable hobby. Hopefully I will gain enough knowledge to better the community.

"I've been meaning to get to this, but an App for Android such as this may be able to transmit the data to the APM seamlessly over bluetooth (class one would get ya 100M) or TCP, allowing easy to implement Android following with software already…"

"I've been waiting for the optical flow sensor for quite some time. I know they said here they don't plan to introduce a low cost version but I hope that the Arducopter version isn't in that category."

"Just preordered mine! Black edition. Hard to believe it does 4K video, but who the hell even has a monitor to handle that. At 12 fps its barely worth it, but who knows what may turn up. I wonder how speeds of the Memory card are going to come into…"

"Sorry I should have addressed that at @Travis.Even for circuit boards, I believe I would rather have it insulated as much as possible and create my own connections. But I believe for an Antenna, if it wasn't…"

"As far as constant voltage, constant power supplies... One of my favorites has been this little thing off eBay. CC, CV driver

It's 7-35 in and 1.25-30V out up to 3 amps (15 watts reg, 25 with heatsink... Do the math for the current/voltage to…"

"Don't worry about how long it takes for this class to start, this guy was my ECE 3085 professor and he is nothing short of awesome. He is enthusiastic and knows his stuff. That is a parrot ar drone. His focus isn't so much about the physical aspects…"

Ryan Alexander Bahr commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Using long-exposure photography to study helicopter physics
"Though I am sure there are other factors, I believe the reason he was stating that we should know that chinhook was fastest was due to the fact that the top limiting speed of the blade due to the speed of sound and pitch on the retreating blade.…"

"@ Veikko
Looking at his icons, it seems like he is using VMWare. I use Parallels 7 on my Mac, and I use VMware on PC. Overall I enjoy Parallels tenfold over VMWare, but VMware is better if you plan to move your virtual machines across PCs quite…"

"Don't cheap out and buy this frame on ebay! I bought a x525 and and x450. The x525 is similar to this except springs on the arms, but not a single arm had properly drilled holes which means that what you'd expect would be easy assembly turns into…"

Ryan Alexander Bahr commented on John Campen's blog post Rubber suspended mounting of the APM board not a good idea

Ryan Alexander Bahr commented on John Campen's blog post Rubber suspended mounting of the APM board not a good idea

Hey there,I don't have all my parts to start building yet, but I like to continually verify that everything that I have is decent for a self built quad. Some information is overwhelming(custom firmwares on ESCs) and hard to make decisions…
