I have started to add functions to MinimOsd code.
At first i did it for myself only. Added many functions i thought i need. Then opened this thread.
after a while, Pedro and later Miguel came, and things started to happen fast. :D
They have optimised the code and added even more things to it.
They have worked hard on CT, and it became a great tool!
Thank you Bough! :)

We built in a new way of setting video standards. Now OSD does not guessing anymore :). You can set it fixed from CT. It is in "Video Mode" menu.
Here is how it looks: (This video is a bit outdated, sorry. I will make a new one soon.)
The MinimOSD-Extra project is here: Link
This project is the developing version of the official Arducam OSD located here: Link
The latest stable version is: 2.2
The latest version can be downloaded from here: MinimOSD-Extra R800
Username: MinimOSD_Extra
Password: Top_Secret
CT is included. (The FW for Plane, Copter, Character upload and the character file is in the "FW & Char" directory inside CT directory)
We are sharing it to see videos you make using it! :)
Enjoy

I have MinimOSD Extra Copter 2.2.hex installed. Running from telem1 port I have a 3dradio in telm2 When mission planner connected i can see voltage and amp from my pixhawk. Looking at osd it reports 0 for both along with some of the other onscreen info has 0 for the value.
Hi
I'm working on a second MiniOSD board. Old board Aug' 2011(~v1.1)
First time connecting and I'm getting the message "failed to talk to boot loader"
Any idea?
Thanks
Itzik
Hi Itzik.....Have you managed to get your Minim to work properly yet?
I have a clone which had the same 'failed to talk to bootloader' message.
I found that if the 'video in' and 'video out' pins are disconnected from the board, I can configure the thing fine. If connected, I get the message.
I couldn't get the thing to work at all with the analogue and digital sides seperately powered, so I soldered the pads and power the board with a dedicated 5v Ubec. Only the Rx lead is connected from the APM telemetry port to the Minim OSD. The quality of all the connections seems to be very important, especially on the video side, so I have soldered those to the board.
Works perfectly now. Thanks to all those clever people who put this together!
?It was a stupid question
no it was not :) If you dont have a ftdi that can connect to the dtr/grn pin, you have to press the reset button on the osd right after pressing connect in the software. So, press connect, and then press press and release the reset button. might take a few tries until you get the feel for the timing.
For charset upload wait a little longer before pressing reset. Maybe 1-1.5 sec
Bjoern
Thanks for helping.
I'm pressing and releasing for the last 24 hr. not working for me.
I hope I understand your instructions. I actually don’t have "connect" I'm trying to upgrade the osd.

ok with that cable you shouldnt have to press the reset button. And you have the rx to tx and viceversa? If that doesnt work then maybe you have to update the bootloader. Its been along time since i did it, and forgot the procedure.
And the programmer does work?
Maybe you should read here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2026936

Need some help! I received 2x RCTimer v2.0 MinimOSD modules and proceeded to follow the instructions Bjoern posted below. "... just load the Character_Updater_FW.hex, update charset, and then update to plane or copter firmware thats in the same folder." My current problem is that I get "No Mav Data" showing on my display no matter what I flash.
I even swapped ports from Telem2 to Telem1 and cables but no improvement. What am I doing wrong?
Yes what I understand these parameters are for APM, I havn't set them on my Pixhawk and Minimosd-extra works fine with my Pixhawk.
