Hobby King Shipping SUCKS!!!

Anyone else had any issues with Hobby King shipping from their China warehouse? After ordering a new hexa frame from them about a week ago, I still haven't received any shipping confirmation or a valid tracking number. The tracking number on their order status page comes up NOT FOUND when I attempt to use it on the Malaysian Post (or whatever it is) tracking site. I have contacted their customer service reps several times and been met with nothing but excuses and shallow apologies. Has this been YOUR experience with HK? Post your rant here if it has. I doubt very seriously that I will EVER order anything from them again.

        • Ordered it here on eBay at more than $100 cheaper than the Tarot T810

These guys contacted me immediately regarding questions I had about the frame itself. I was mistaken...it is in Bend, OR not Port Angeles. Seriously, it'll be in my hands NLT Tuesday. All I lack now is motors and ESCs. I did the soldering on the Attopilot 180 about an hour ago and the APM set is already in my office mailbox.

  • I have found that shipping via their SwissAir option to the US is quite fast. I can get a package from their international warehouse to my door in less than a week. Maybe I have ordered the right things? The tracking number with SwissAir works, too. If I use the other options, the tracking does not work, and I wait and wait and wait.

  • Ordered parts from Hong Kong as they didn't carry what I wanted in their USA warehouse.  Order was placed on or around the first of March.  According to their website, they shipped it the 15th to Malaysian POS.  To date I have not seen it.  I'm beginning to realize that the only way to get my product in a timely manner it to pay out the nose for shipping.  Enough said.

    • Update - Still no product received from early March order.  Hate to say it, but I think it was on the Malaysian flight and is now lost.  Contacted HobbyKing and they opened a investigation ticket but mentioned it will take between 4-6 weeks to conclude their investigation.  All I have to say is that I'm seriously thinking of discontinuing any further business with their HK office.

      • The Malaysian flight got lost after leaving KL on its way to Beijing. Why would a parcel leaving HK going to the US be routed to such a flight ?

    • It is not realistic to expect that package that you paid the minimum amount for shipping from China to the US or Europe is going to  be delivered quickly.  It costs about $10 USD minimum to ship a 100 gram package from the US to China by air.  Hobby king charges $3 to ship 100 grams to the US and tells you that it can take up to 45 days.  For $10 you can choose Swiss Post and get your package in a week to 10 days.

  • Not to worry Ken,

it will arrive in spite of the lack of being able to track the item. I just went through the same scenario with them and I simply stopped trying to track the item. In the end the package arrived in relatively short order. A friend reminded " A watched pot never boils"

I found the most satisfying delivery from them was a 2Kg package of batteries delivered by FedEx. Literally I was signing for it in my driveway less than two days after the item was listed as shipped at HK.

In addition, I too have been thinking of ordering the Tarot 625. It is a new item so there probably won't be anyone here that has... received one :-).

I  will be periodically treating myself to the more expensive shipping, and in the case of a new airframe like the Tarot, I think I will make an exception and give back a little of the savings. We all deserve to treat ourselves and try to forget all about

    Pos Daft  :-)

  • I have been waiting for 40 days!!! for a parcel to arrive I will never ever buying anything from them.

I've had many issues with Hobbyking but equally so with some of the crap postal services they use. Posten.se, Freipost (FJ), Fijipost (FJ), Swedish Post and Swisspost are all shocking with tracking numbers only showing up weeks after posting.

My most notable Hobbyking debacle was adding two NiMh AA batteries and then having the order sit in "processing" for FIVE %$#@ weeks while Hobbyking gave me the run around every day, saying I'll get the tracking number tomorrow or we'll escalate this with the warehouse manager, etc, etc. They even gave me a "temporary" tracking number which was actually a lie.

It was all BS and I was hopping mad! Eventually one of the chat "consultants" said they would cancel the order, I'll get a credit and I can reorder. I did so, without the NiMh AA cells and had a tracking number the next day!

Anyway I just haven't ordered from them for months.

I have heard they send out 300-500 parcels a day at times so someone must be getting their stuff without hassle
