Here an interesting test in STABILIZED mode about the ArduPlane v2.73-xp1 Vs the ArduPlane v2.76-xp1 in HIL mode on X-Plane v9.70.
It seems that, with the Arduplane v2.76, at high angle of pitch the STABILIZED mode is not able to do correctly the job
