Jeremy Randle replied to WildTrack's discussion How to build an affordable drone/camera combo with a GSD of 0.3 millimetres at 20m altitude
"With a GSD of 0.3mm, if you could achieve a shutter speed of 1/1000 (unlikely) then a velocity of even 0.3 metres per second (300mm/sec) would give you motion blur of 1 pixel !! At 20 metres altitude an angle change of 0.9deg/sec would give you…"

Jeremy Randle replied to Stephan's discussion Mission Planner 1.3.39 Dataflash log auto analysis broken
"My computer runs an Intel Xeon E5-2630, 16Gb RAM and Windows 7 Pro 64Bit. The Auto Analysis fails on a 50Mb log from around a 25 min flight, with some non flying time before hand. Just tried it again and it killed MP, causing it to close.
1) Is it…"

Jeremy Randle commented on Andrew Tridgell's blog post APM:Plane 3.6.0 released
"My problem is with a Spektrum Receiver, not Futaba.
I have been using a genuine 3DR Pixhawk and a Spektrum AR7700 receiver with no problems in my existing aircraft. The receiver is connect to the Pixhawk via its SRXL output.
I have been using Plane…"

Jeremy Randle replied to Stephan's discussion Mission Planner 1.3.39 Dataflash log auto analysis broken
"This might be a silly question, but I note that my copy of Mission Planner is installed in the /Programs Files (x86) directory. For some reason I had it in my mind that this is where 32 bit versions of programs were typically installed. Is this…"

Jeremy Randle commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Smart RTL comes to PX4
"Hi, I am currently using the Android version of Solo for flying my Solo so it must be ver 2.3.0. I believe when I set up the new vehicle with firmware ver 2.4.0 I saw an option about the REWIND feature being on or off, and the distance to use. I…"

Jeremy Randle commented on Chris Anderson's blog post VTOL plane based on ETH research now coming to market
"Thought you might all like to see a similar vehicle that was developed at the University of Sydney, Australia, 15 to 20 years ago. It is called the T-Wing and flew fully autonomously with our own designed autopilot hardware and software about 10…"

Jeremy Randle commented on Chris Anderson's blog post New Solo update adds Burst Mode, improved FollowMe. Also: DroneKit Python 2.0!
"Hi Chris,
In Australia we can't buy the SOLO vehicle directly from 3DR so we can't use the "DIYD20OFF" discount code to get the "SOLO and Gimbal for $799" as per the e-mail we were all sent. Is there another way the loyal DIY Drones members in…"

Jeremy Randle replied to OBwan's discussion Anyone know to load a prefetched map in Mission Planner?
"Yes, but 75% of our usage is in areas where there is no cell phone coverage. Thus we have to preload everything. Hopefully somebody else out there may have tried this.

Thanks for trying to help."

Jeremy Randle replied to OBwan's discussion Anyone know to load a prefetched map in Mission Planner?
"Hi Mark,
We need to assume there is NO internet connection in the field. So, we prefetch maps to office computer. Copy to USB. Copy to Ground Station computer, possibly in the field.

How do make Mission Planner find and use them, even though they…"

Jeremy Randle replied to OBwan's discussion Anyone know to load a prefetched map in Mission Planner?
"Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply. I have managed to prefetch maps of the area I care about. I took a guess that I had to copy these folders to next computer I wished to use them on when an internet link was unavailable. Unfortunately when I arrived at…"

Jeremy Randle replied to OBwan's discussion Anyone know to load a prefetched map in Mission Planner?
"So, how do we transfer tiles, or even a whole map from one computer to another ? Do we have to copy everything in the gmapcache folder ?

What if you only want to copytiles for a certain area ?

Thanks"
