Not Sure commented on Hugues's blog post How-to "catapult launch" and Arduplane (XUAV Talon)
"Put a rod out further along the chord to prop the chord up higher, and you won't see that nasty stall characteristic as it's coming off the launcher, as it's trying to pull the plane down, and it's wanting to go up.  The rod can be something simple…"

Not Sure commented on Martin Walch's blog post Create new workable regulations for the safe commercial operation of small remotely piloted aircraft. Petition by Mark Butcher, Burnie, Australia
"PPLA theory can be easily self taught by reading an aviation PPLA theory book (e.g. taitie's books) over a couple of weeks for an hour a night.  People can then sit the exam at an approved examinations centre for a couple of hundred dollars.  It was…"

Not Sure commented on Martin Walch's blog post Create new workable regulations for the safe commercial operation of small remotely piloted aircraft. Petition by Mark Butcher, Burnie, Australia
"I disagree with both the petition response, and the CASA proposal.
People need to do some hard work to become commercial rated pilots, whether it be UAS or Manned, instead of having exemptions handed out willy-nilly in open season. "

Not Sure commented on Martin Walch's blog post Create new workable regulations for the safe commercial operation of small remotely piloted aircraft. Petition by Mark Butcher, Burnie, Australia
"Like any proposal, there are both sides of the fence, I disagree with the above petition.

This is my reason(s) why:

I can make in my shed an RC plane less than 1kg that will do easily 200+km/hr.
It does not have to be certified, nor does it have…"

Not Sure commented on Jethro Hazelhurst's blog post Balancing Carbon Fiber Props : The Right Way!
"Never sand a model/uav prop, that is unwise.  Always add really thin tape.  Worst case scenario if you ever loose the tape inflight, you'll have a slightly unbalanced prop.  You don't get second chances with a weakened propeller. "

Not Sure commented on OutbackUAV.com's blog post CASA NPRM May Free Lightweight Commercial UAVs
"@Mike,
The viewpoint from OEM manufacturing is, that there is no-one capable within CASA to certify UAV's, because they do not possess the skill set or resources to do such an activity.  Knowing this, how does this process work then?
The second…"

Not Sure commented on OutbackUAV.com's blog post CASA NPRM May Free Lightweight Commercial UAVs
"that's all this is, simply a "proposal".  If you believe that 90+ licenced OC holders (who are not represented by random groups or associations) in AUS who have paid thousands to have qualified pilots along with a UOC will just sit idly by and allow…"

Not Sure commented on Michael Day's blog post Landing from Rally Points
"Comment by Travis Whitley 4 hours ago
The Procerus Autopilots have been running the same algorithm as you've described and it works quite well.

hence my comment on making it tangential exit, the early procerus stuff wasn't tangential and whilst it…"

Not Sure commented on Greg's blog post Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority scrambling to roll out drone public awareness campaign
"Understanding the necessities of PPL as a standard for all pilots of aircraft (manned or unmanned) in commercial airspace is a base line for aviation competency.  Unmanned aviation shares the skies with manned aviation, it is not the other way…"

Not Sure commented on Simon Kerr's blog post Concerns about lack of UAV regulation in New Zealand - complete with sensationalist headline.
"Well he flies the quad just about as good as, if not better than most rc pilots...

Reading between the lines, and what he is highlighting is that the risk potential for damage or unwanted activity is very high as the process for ensuring safe UAV…"
