"Hi Luke,  you raise a great point.
The Mavic is clearly an amazing machine, but are they fun ?
You know what they will do before you buy them, I believe that you cannot repair them yourself (maybe wrong here) and you cannot hack them.

They are…"

Rob Swynnerton commented on benbojangles's blog post Ghetto fpv goggles.
"They have been an extremely popular product, some folk especially glasses wearers love them. £220 for fatsharks or approx £27.00 for these. Also work well as a cheap passenger set or for the spectator who wants a ride

Rob Swynnerton commented on Trent at MyGeekShow's blog post MyGeekShow's Next Generation Flying Wing
"Hi Trent,
Nice plan form of the wing, looks good, make sure its stiff, use a 10mm fibreglass tubular spar (Fpver's prefer fibreglass to CF as CF can set up a dipole). As you get bigger and heavier the speed goes up and can cause wing flapping at…"

Rob Swynnerton commented on Trent at MyGeekShow's blog post Successful Cross Country Flight! (Take off and land at different locations)
"Hi Trent,
The main problem i had was in stabilise mode, where i had virtually no authority over the plane, it was very stable but uncontrollable . I played around with most settings, on APM and transmitter, but it always countered itself. This…"

"Hi Adam,
Glad the crash was non fatal, I have had the non responsive problem in stabilise mode, the plane certainly is stable, but whatever you do, it matches it and straight on you go. No solution was found for my 60" wing after months of research…"

"Nice thread, this will really make a difference long term.

I hope these changes come across the pond, to the UK, we need a change in funding sources more than anyone, the banks and the city have held us to ransom for too long, crushing innovation."

I am building conventional plane (not flying wing) which i have ailerons and elevator, but wish to omit the rudder (to save weight and complexity).Question, will the APM 2.0 be able to RTL without rudder ?Best ThanksRob

Rob Swynnerton commented on Rob Swynnerton's blog post Flyingwings Ltd UK
"Hi Chris, Yes the new one will be around 1.5m, quite a bit bigger, with a much more powerful motor, expect payload around 500g, depending on lipo used. Two part wing, not sure how to join it yet. Will have modular fuzz so you can mount equipment…"

Thanks for the feedback, i am working hard on the CAD, im going to base it on the Raven which is a similar format to my v-trainer, which handles the wind very well on rudder & elevator, although this will have ailerons. The fuselage…"

"Hi Lorenzo, thanks for the feedback, i have been asked for a larger version of the v-trainer. A pod & boom design would work with a detachable nose and plenty of space within the fuselage. The motor position makes it difficult to damage. I will work…"
