"Couple of questions:
- Will you have an API to allow other apps to communicate with the devices?
- Will multiple units be able to connect over an ad-hoc WiFi (no router or internet) network or 3DR radios?
- Any idea of vertical accuracy?"
Thanks. I looked at MNT_TYPE, but thought that the "3" that was set there was the proper value. I'm not sure if the meanings changed in 3.3rc1 or what, but its working now when setting it to 1.
"Upgraded to 3.3rc1 and it appears that the gimbal is not being controlled properly. The Tarot gimbal on my 3DR Y6 works fine with 3.2.1 (RC tuning knob, ROI, etc), but the only time I can get it to move in 3.3rc1 is to hit the servo low/high…"
"Arthur: Yes, rebooting made the DP logs appear - thanks!
Chris: Here's two logs. The first one has the first flight and part of the second (14:23 start). This flight started and I realized I needed a higher altitude, so I came back, landed and…"
"Chris: I checked that it was the latest version (2.4.2_rc2) before I flew the circle flights and I do have Enable Logging checked. However, I did not enable live upload."
"Well, did a couple of tests today using the DroidPlanner circle mode. First flight it worked fine, only had it do one circle. Put in a new battery and set orbits to 3. After first circle, copter started misbehaving badly (wobbled, dropped 5m alt)…"
"I have a mostly stock 2014 3DR Y6 (pixhawk) and have flown it in temps down to 0 deg F. I've brought it outside and flown immediately (room temp) as well as cold soaked with not problems in either case."
Here's a pretty good news report about drones from a TV station in the Twin Cities. It covers a variety of drone uses and discusses the UND program. It also covers some political issues in Minnesota.North Dakota opens nation's first drone test…
"I picked up a 2014 RTF Y6 w/o transmittter one month ago. The firmware was all setup and configured correctly - though the documentation was subpar and incorrect. All I had to do was hook up the receiver and do the radio calibration. It flew well…"
"Well, incorrect documents are probably more dangerous than none at all. They acknowledged the errors and then probably decided to press ahead with deliveries w/o documentation while its being updated. I would've hoped that they'd at least give you…"
I've had the '14 Y6 for a couple of weeks now. I used my own radio (Turnigy 9xr), so I had to do the radio calibration and switch setup. I did calibrate the esc's, and I've recalibrated often as I've been flying in temps from 0 to 45F.…"
"I grabbed some transistors from Radio Shack and had Marco's circuit working in short order. It outputs a 5v signal with both a relay (pin 54) and PWM (pin 52). I successfully bench tested a CHDK script (CAM_TRIGG_DIST= 1) using the relay pin. I'll…"
"@Tom,
I get similar results using the Sparkfun step-up converter. Without the converter, it works as it should with the 3.3v output. I can't imagine that the converter draws any significant amount of power. Maybe someone with more knowledge of…"
"I received my 2014 Y6 with the Pixhawk today - yipee! I had waited since my November order for the Iris and when the new Y6 was announced, I jumped ship. Anyway, I can report that the D8R-II plus flashed with the XP firmware does appear to work…"
"You need the receiver to output CPPM (aka PPM sum). It doesn't do it natively, but I used this guide to flash a new firmware that outputs CPPM on my D8R-II plus. Keep in mind that you're putting the -XP firmware on your -II plus.…"
"@bigkahuna - I'm using one of these linear actuators. They're $140, but have the power and throw needed for my application. This model has a built in pot so you can sense the position. I have all of the hardware and can control everything from the…"
