There are tons of SLAM algorithms that exist today that can easily solve the problem of localization to a degree that is perfectly acceptable for driving. LSD slam comes to mind as one that is very efficient.
"At these Re numbers really the only thing that is going to matter is your propulsion system efficiency, and whether or not the airframe can support the load structurally. With the same propulsion system, wingspan and structural capacity the two…"
"Just FYI aerodynamic torque compensation has been around for a very long time (google "stator vanes").It is worth noting further that any static system can only compensate for torque at a single mass airflow rate, and that at all other points the…"
"Tail volume not necessarily to small but the boom length definitely is. You are certainly going to have problems with the folding wings and extending tail. It's not impossible to get done but it will certainly be difficult to implement.
"I have a lot of experience building single rotor drones. In my experience (extensive) they are by far the most difficult drones to build. Single copters are essentially inverted pendulums, and are thus very non linear in terms of control and require…"
"What's great about multirotors and quad copters specifically is that they are extremely easy to design and build. Four relatively rigid booms, I would start with some square tubing as it is the easiest to work with, four escs four motors four props…"
"Very interesting, theoretically I term should never affect the transient performance of a system, especially not make it unstable. There are exceptions to this, you may find that introducing the zeros from your I term in your transfer function is…"
