Yes it flys but I would not call it controlled flight ;)

This was ment to be a mini prototype before I went to shell out $$$ on hardware.

  • It was a proof of concept and does kinda fly. It was something I put together at 2am with parts I had already and did not have counter rotating propellers, I angled the motors to counter for this and it worked a little.

    Without gyros or any sort of stabilizers after liftoff (and even before) it quickly finds the closest wall.
    I am thinking that next time I will use 2 cheap coaxial helicopters and no soft foam for the frame.

    Neat- I bet a set of mCx helicopter guts would provide the functionality that you need for controlled flight on your design...
  • Unlike most of the other tricoptors out there I wanted to balance most of the weight only on 2 motors then use the 3rd for control.
