2.6 is not on the site yet. I have a few aircraft to build for a customer and I would like to use the latest and greatest. Plus I think it will save me some head ache on 3.0 firmware. Updates on this release would be great.
I bought a new laptop computer with windows 8 and still not able the load the drivers on the TWO 2.6 APM's I have. As you suggested I got and RMA to return the APM. Not sure where to go from here. I would like to get an APM that works. But I do not wont to go through all of the trouble I have had over the past two months.

Thanks
Are you using ArduCopter 3.x code?
Are the APM 2.6 kits shipping as expected (since 7/16)? I ordered mine two days ago from 3DR.
Kevin,
The instructions for disabling the APM 2.5 onboard magnetometer are here: http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-external-magnetometer-for-i...
That's all you need to do in order to use an external magnetometer like the one built into our new GPS.
So can I use this new GPS system on my APM 2.5? If not is anyone interested in a $70 APM 2.5?

Neill If you follow the complete blog you see that there were many problems before the windows addition.
Windows 7 has a problem with drivers and sometimes the drivers do not load with the correct configuration.
My problem was dealing with the 2.6 apm. When I had a 2.5 apm I did not have the problems with the drivers.
@Tony
windows 8?
there's your problem.
