For those who don't want to be waiting for it, here's your your best option: Order it and be one of the firsts to receive it (As always FIFO service).

Go for it here: http://store.diydrones.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BR-0012-01

It will be released during the next week (Sorry for the long delay!).

BTW the pictures is just for display purposes, the final color you will receive is blue and has the latest improvements. ;-)

  • This is the Ardupilot Mega that I refer :) http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9710
  • Hey! Yes, for the Arducopter! I have a doubt.. what do I need to use the ArdupilotMega Shield/Oilpan in the Arducopter? Will I need the Ardupilot Mega also? I saw that Jordi has one attached to it... sorry, I am newbie :S
  • I guess he wants to know when the code for ardumega/oilpan will be ready.
I'd like to know that too ;-)

@Simoni: This is the "pro" autopilot, the big brother to ArduPilot/ArduIMU. Both will be offered. Once the product is shipping, we'll make the comparisons clearer.

@Maruo: Mauro, not sure what you're referring to. ArduCopter?
  • @Chris when do you expect that it will be ready the version 1.0 ????!!!! I am looking forwarddddddddddddddddddd!! :)))))))
  • Awe, now I'm more confused than I already was (and I didn't think that was possible!) - where does this "sit" in the product line? Is it a replacement for the ArduIMU / ArduIMU+ / ArduPilot? Is there a comparison matrix? What would I need to get a Quad in the air (hmmm, I'm sure there are many answers to that last one - many of them hilarious too I guess).

    Great work Jordi / Chris.

@Alex. Schematics etc will come when we release the board.
  • 3D Robotics
@Optical: Don't expect heli support until Q3. Quad and fixed wing will come first.

Great work everyone! Looking forward to getting my board!

    I have some questions though,
    1. Where can i find the schematics and board diagrams? The picture of the board diagram on the store are hardly readable and are they the up to date ones?

    2. Are there going to be any eagle files released of the board? Because as Morli suggested about the differential pressure sensor I would like to modify my own and make one that includes the diff pressure sensor instead of getting yet another shield as I want a nice clean installation.

  • The best part of this product is the Open Source code, which will support fixed-wing aircraft and multirotor vehicles , from quadcopters to helis and VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft.

Chris alluded to the helicopter development in some other blog comments. The above description in the store makes it appear that this development may be further along than I expected based on the previous comments.
