I think 3DR is not focusing on retail sales presently. There is more money to be made in other sectors.
I've been saying this about their shipping for 6 months and it's fallen on deaf ears, and I'm beginning to see it as a fatal flaw for the company.
I really would love to support 3DR and buy products from them, but if they're going to only offer expensive international shipping options, then it's a no-brainer to order elsewhere. Do they not realise that if you go looking for one thing you need, you'll generally end up with a cart containing the 4 or 5 other things you had on your list?
Eg I needed a new 5 pin GPS cable a while back. The cable was a few bucks, it weighed a few grams, but international shipping on it was $35USD. I know that I can get a sub 100g package from the states for about $7 USD so what's going on!

agree with you, however this one is insane. Half of the copter price?. I bought a plane from America with 60$ shipping cost.
I believe this shipping prices/options are totally up to 3DR.
@mP1: I agree totally, 3DR really needs to work out better shipping options. How can so many other places have such reasonable shipping prices, but 3DR be so damn high. I really want to buy the genuine 3DR gear, but when shipping takes it to over 3 or 4 times as expensive as what I can get from China, I'll gladly buy TWO products to make sure I have ONE that works.

Ordering from 3DR America is a joke. The shipping costs are outrageous, they are going to get killed by the chinese with options like that.
The announcement shouldnt use Americanisms, like PST aka Pacific Savings Time etc. Better off saying California time. I dont know for sure but given there are dozens of countries around the pacific there very well could be many Pacific times.
Is the new Y6 going to have carbon arms like shown in the MSNBC video posted yesterday?
