Disappointing Major Marcy's peers have to resort to this. You'd think they would build RC planes. Enlistees are building things, but the 'force makes officers get a Masters degree for no reason & they get caught up in this path of symbolic credentials. They end up having little relevance once in the real world & have to resort to fluff.
T.D., I personally have not problems with promotional blogs, but there;s got to be some benefit tot he community. So far Jerry's posts is not passing that smell test.
This is all nice and fine for one or two day seminar. However in order to have a certificate or diploma program it takes more than a few power point slides. To teach a Masters and PhD program takes multiple instructors, all expert in their area of discipline. I would think twice before spending my hard earned cash.
We are a DIY community and like to see information that helps us in understanding, and building drones. Also I question whether we should approve further, such blogs, since the sole goal is drum up students.

@T.D. Gonzales: I know this is an old topic, I ran across it while working on other matters.
Jerry's PhD is from:
Mississippi State University
PhD, Electrical Engineering
1984 – 1987
I'm not affiliated in any way, but you seemed interested enough to ask the question and google him.
Here is what you might have missed:

Jerry's BIO on his MyPage here seems very impressive... maybe the kind of info we could use here?
Especially if his 3 day course includes hard info on the regulatory side, not just the hardware end.
Some of the claims with regards "UAV University" is what makes this smell for me..nothing worse than a diploma mill.
