Cruise speed
Hi,I want to adjust cruise speed. At default settings I have a ground speed of about 42km/h (without airspeed sensor), and I think the optimal speed should be lower. In the mission planner I have value "Cruise speed", default 12m/s. I updated it to 9.5, but don't see any change in actual cruise speed. How to set cruise speed? Are these different settings with RTL speed? For RTL I prefer keep it as is - less efficient, but more reliable. Is it possible to adjust cruise speed during flight, providing…

I liked the X8 but now I am sold on the RV Jet because it doesn't have the stall issues the x8 has its easily available in the USA and it has hour plus flight times.
I admit, only have done some STAB flights, and battery checks.
I'm using a 3548 900Kv motor, 12X6 prop, 12000mAh 3S pack, and all indications are @ 3/4 throttle it will fly for at least 40 minutes. Which is very different to what eCalc gives me.....
It doesn't launch as "comfortable" as my now deceased SW 1900, but much easier than my X8 Wing.
And it almost is an aerobatic aircraft, loops, rolls, inverted flight, all possible, and easy to do.
Did I mention space ?
All my antennas are internal, nothing other than the pitot hanging in the airstream !
Thank you guys.
For info, on differences between SW 2013 1900, 1680, 1880, I found this on the net
Quote
1900/1680 self stabilise more than 1880. i.e. let go of sticks they return to level flight
1900 is least aerobatic. 1880 is most. 1680 in between
1900/1680 seem similar power to cruise. 1990 a touch more.
1680 takes least power to climb
1900 best at picking thermals / 1880 worst
1880 copes with wind turbulence best 1900 worst
1900 slowest 1880 fastest
1880 is better for aggressive flying. 1900 least

Agreed, but maybe the 1700 wing to be less susceptible to wind?
According to your experience, what is the best plane in the market to use along with an APM 2.6 + GPS to do the following :
- orthophotography with Canon APN(200 grams) + CHDK
- 30 mn of flight
- reasonable (20 mph) wind proof
- hand take off + mission + autoland
Dimensions / weight / choice between wing and plane not an issue for me.
Thank you very much
You can set up custom switches so you can wake your mode switch only work if another switch is in a particular position, look up examples of this type of setup in "selecting six modes for APM"
What you want to do will add another layer to that logic
Thanks so much. :)
I have 2.6. Thanks
Guys,
I'd like to mount my flight control board sideways and have my uBlox facing forwards. How do I achieve this please?
Thanks in advance. :)
