Talk about the 3DR Solo quadcopter
4K Action Camera Wifi WiMiUS L3 2.45'' LCD Touch Screen $42 off
There is a lot to like about the WiMius L3 16MP 4K Action Cam as it's undoubtedly a worthy competitor to the GoPro at a sharp fraction of the price. It's simply amazing what they were able to do in such a tight package. It does 4k video , 60fps 1080p video, has a webcam mode which would be used on youtube if necessary, comes with a variety of different accessories like the go pro which includes the signature case and many many other cool things as well. I use a program called Bandicam I was…

Having new problems with Solo wifi disconnecting on Android. Can anyone else confirm after latest 3DR services update on Sept 22nd? Solo and Solo Beta app both exhibit this problem for me. Couldn't fly cuz I kept loosing wifi and as a result video loss. Shame cuz I was getting 1.5 HDOP in a new location and was locked onto 11 sats in 30 seconds.
People have also been seen in the OpenROV video operating a "real" Trident, but that doesn't mean we can go out and buy one...because it's not finished....
and because after all it was a working production gimbal model right?...unfortunately there is a big difference between a nice demo and being able to apply the equipment as a tool in the field...I can sit here and dream about what could of what have been, or what has been done in a highly controlled setting.....that don't get work done...one thing I know it's that talk is cheap and the reality is I can't "do work" based on hopes and dreams, n'or fancy demos......Finally, releasing a product half a year after it was announced, taking money orders prior to a finished product while following a development timetable is kickstarter campaign, and if thats not a Kickstarter, then I'm not sure what is at this point...
@Ray, yeah it doesn't make any sense why they would abandon their launch partners in order to expand further internationally...Seems like their concern isn't customer based but rather trying to make a name for themselves....But that's great news its on its way to you finally!!!
I personally flew with a real gimbal at the NAB launch.
Best Buy has gimbals in stock at the store near us.
Well, I cancelled my gimbal order with DSLRPro and ordered from B&H. Got a tracking number. Why DSLRPro never got their gimbals, I couldn't say, thet couldn't say.
The only problem now is, will I get my free battery that was offered at the time due to the delay.
@Ray, B&H does most certainly have gimbals in stock now!!! However they seem to be on some holiday until Thursday? Hopefully this is a sign that GreatHobbies and others will be next...
It would seem that 3DR may perhaps not understand what "False Advertising" consists of, because considering this release was nothing short of a kickstarter campaign, advertising an actual product when it was merely an concept they had not completed and in production (or at least pre production) seems rather false.....
It couldn't be more inaccurate, because in reality they only had the concept of a gimbal, without even having a working model...
It resembles the new OpenROV Trident unit campaign thats being advertised right now on kickstarter, with its design, great marketing video, offer for presale, unit in the video seen working... Except the defining difference is that OpenROV aren't hiding the fact that its going to take time and that it is just that a "kickstarter campaign", and they don't have a consumer product just yet, but with "your" help they could bring it to completion....whereas 3DR announced a product that was kinda sorta more than just a concept (I say more because the Solo itself was almost on schedule, and by almost, I mean a month off) that was claimed to be pretty much ready to be on store shelves within weeks.....Which couldn't have been more false...considering next week its already October.......
@Ray, and like Justin said even he was getting some in this week in Australia, which wasn't even part of the launch partnerships (ironically though 3DR recently expanded to Australia according to an article on suav), which were companies solely based in the U.S. and Canada...And none of these companies that were original launch partners received enough to fill orders yet...
I also don't think its a matter of being frustrated, and impatient or not, but rather coming to terms with the constant and never ending disappointment, thanks to the continuous lies that resulted in this situation.
I've checked with B&H last week who are hoping to fill pre orders by end of sept, Great Hobbies has no clue and said they're trickling in slowly at random times, London Drugs also has no idea and said they've got a few so far but unknown as to when pre orders will be filled and stock in...
And thats not to mention the confusion of adding all these other partners who came on board throughout the launch like Best Buy Canada (release date still sept 30)...As if they could handle more partners....By the time I'll have heard anything it'll be -40*C with ten feet of snow up here in northern Ontario, season of 4-5 months gone with no use from it but a box of useless tech sitting in my closet until next year, after winter passes...
But I guess there's always those Solo commercials to look back on and think of what could of been...If only it were true....
Here's a kick in the head....B&H in stock with gimbals. April preorders still waiting. DSLRPros told me they were supposed to receive gimbals last week and got backpacks instead. Gimbals went to B&H I would say.
Is it commonly understood the issue is availability or is it technical issues not ironed out or do we even know?
Craig,
It's quite easy to get frustrated with this and understandable when we have waited several months for it. Week after week I have been told it should be next week. 3DR's 30 day return policy I was told starts the day your gimbal arrives.
I contacted DSLRPros and they instructed me to get the RMA from 3DR and then DSLRPros would refund my money. Not quite sure what I will do at this point because I do not care for DJI as a company.
