Hi AllPurchased a FlyPro X600 and I am trying to sort out what would be the most suitable camera to use for FPV and some video/stills photography. The supplier has wired it up for a GoPro 3. That model is a little out of date but a good camera to start with although if I am going to purchase a camera I would like to only spend on a one of that last for sometime. I have had a look at the specs for the for what I will be flying it for Sony FDR-X1000V. The software has stabilisation and some…

AUTO and RTL is all OK.
Flew my first auto mission perfectly this morning in 15kt winds.
The Finwing Penguin is the best plane I have ever flown - flew on rails in a strong wind
Success on my first APM flight. The Penguin as usual flew like it was on rails.
Tested manual and stabilise mode which both worked perfectly.
Tested the mavlink and ground station - all worked OK
Analysing the logs now to make sure there are no nasties hidden before I try an automatic flight.

You both should have an invite in your mailbox for the group. If anyone else wants to participate let me know.

JB
Did someone here say that they had a 3D printer? Got a little prototype gopro hero3 mount I just drew up, any change someone can print it for me?[Download GoProMount.stl]
That sounds good John. Sorry I didn't know you were away again. We will definitely leave a chair for you on the WA UAV roundtable! Part timers are always welcome too. I'll keep my Sundays open as best I can for when you get back. I'll also send you an invite to our new forum etc.
C U there!
JB
Mate, I would love to attend. Unfortunately I'll be offshore until at least the 27th.
I look forward to catching up with all of you boys when I get the chance.
Hey John,
Were you interested in coming to the meet about the OBC as well on Sunday?
Anyone else otherwise?...Would be good to catch up with everyone in the area with the same interests. Coming to the meet isn't committing to the OBC btw!
Cya soon
Regards
JB
Hai yeah I know...it's still along way to go. I'd rather rush into it now rather than stress to meet a deadline later! but we still have plenty of time. I'd like to actually "practice" searching for Joe long before we actually have to. I plan on including most of my family, my boys are already involved in RC etc. But time management and planning is key. No good if we go broke or damage a relationship in the course of pursueing the OBC. There's no fun in that!
Stephen you have mail!
@JB nice! just remember the OBC isn't a 100m sprint it's more like an Ironman triathlon!
We need to train hard and pace ourselves.
Don't forget we have families and jobs that will demand our time.
