I believe you can setup failsafe on the basis of a low battery as well, if you have the 3DR Power module or an Attopilot module fitted but I haven't set this up on my quad. See the failsafe page in Mission Planner."
"OK - output the data from the SBus data line at 57600 and input that to the RS232 port on the XJT. i still need to get the data to the processor in the 9X or 9XR - i will need to work on that."
"With a standard telemetry modded 9X or 9XR i.e. those without PXX capability. I think taking a direct feed from the RS232 port on the XJT via a RS232 to TTL level convertor to the TX and RX ports on the main transmitter board should get the same…"
"LMTNO,
It won't work with a standard 9X. You will need to do the FrSky telemetry hardware mod first - there are a number of variants on a basic theme - here is an introductory link:
Telemetry Mods
You then need to use a firmware variant that…"
"Göran
The telemetry output on the APM expects to see activity on the TX line before it will output telemetry data. If you do not use the telemetry transmitter then connect the TX line on the Teensie.
Alan"
"David,
That should do the job - use the analogue ground in the same row by the USB port.
Do you still have the same problem with the Teensie disconnected? If you still get alarms then - try updating the Taranis firmware.
Alan"
"Fred,
You might not have an issue using 21 milliseconds....................
However, when each channel is operated the pulse width for that channel alters. At the end of the train of pulses is a sync pulse or space, which tells the APM when to…"
"On the subject of the FrSky SBus to CPPM convertor.
My new Rigol 1102E oscilloscope tells me that I have a 28 millisecond frame rate with the link connected, which I use with the APM2.5 and a 21 millisecond frame rate with it removed. I am happy…"
I don't think this solution works with previous Frsky telemetry receivers. The S-Port is slightly different to the old hub digital protocol. Someone please correct me if I am wrong or have missed something."
"Damn - I forgot that one
Run the check list again and re-load the Teensie.
There is something in this thread about no GPS display - possibly re-flashing the Taranis?"
"Re-flash the Taranis to the latest firmware.
Re-load the Teensie from the latest (V1.3) zip on this thread.
Check what is going back to Mission Planner via USB - GPS lock, voltages etc.
Sorry, that has about exhausted my knowledge of the subject.…"
"Have you set up the Taranis to receive basic telemetry? That is, do you have a reading for A1 approximately 5 volts. This would confirm the basic telemetry without Teensie. (The X8R internal voltage divider for A1 is 4:1 so your range needs to be…"
Many thanks - I have now got the basic setup working with my 433 telemetry in parallel. What this means for me is that I can move on from mission based flights glued to the laptop to just flying around - this is backwards I know but I am a…"
