Andy commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Let Skynet Become Self-Aware!
"You can always tell when an industry has been co-opted by the 'suits.'  They will call for greater regulation, licensing, and other such nonsense measures.  It is also the relative death of that industry as well.  Fortunately I don't have a profit…"

"@Tommy:
That's a bummer!  I did receive it but found it didn't meet my needs.  It did serve video, to a windows 7 box, but when I tried different video players on different devices, it couldn't be viewed.  In particular, I was interested in a 3gp…"

Andy commented on Bob Doiron's blog post 9x gets 3DR 915 MHz air module
"Good stuff.  I haven't tried it yet but, if I had two 915MHz Air modules, would they be able to communicate both ways?  It seems this works out of the box (by what is described above) but just wanted a sanity check before making an investment. …"

Okay, received my unit.  First thing to note, no power supply.  Next, user manual states 12VDC at 1.5A.  Label on unit states 12VDC at 200mA.  Contacted their staff and was told 12VDC at 1.5A is fine.  Hmmm...  We'll see...  ;-)"

Yes, confirmed that with them.  Ordered and shipped locally; will be interesting to compare notes at some point.  Thanks."

"Though SD, looking at the specs of that H.264 video server Tommy posted, it seems like they require the use of their client for viewing.  I would like to use VLC instead and wonder if that would be possible with that solution.  Any thoughts on this?"

That looks interesting.  If you don't mind, are you ordering from that link and what are they charging you?  Thanks."

"Thanks Charles.  Getting there but not as compact as I would like (the form factor you showed earlier from Zowietek is perfect).  Someone pointed out Cavium earlier and I am contacting them to see what is possible.  I will post any feedback received."

"Yeah; unfortunately not the portable solution I need.  I did send a message to see if they have something in the pipeline.  Thanks for the feedback."

If you look at the 'conventional radio' manufacturers of today, they are slowly shifting to touch-screen displays with greater capabilities.  It won't be long before Android-like (if not actual incorporation) will be the norm.  There are…"

Yes, without a doubt.  Though Apple is useful, for media apps, that is where it ends for me.
