Hello DIY Community, My team and I are in need of atmoshpheric wind data ASAP for university research purposes measured via a pitot tube mounted on-board a UAV flight system. Since we don't currently have the capability to fly an autonomous (APM or…

Victor Maldonado commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post Send for Crossfire
"The aircraft does not actually fly level, it traces out a slight "V" shape as it flies because as you guys pointed out, the blade creates more lift at the tip due to the increased tangential velocity and you have a hub which creates essentially no…"

"Hi Guys, and morli thanks for all your feedback. Two things I am most concerned about are the following: The legal aspect of the flight, I'm assuming that if we can establish visual contact at all times, we would be exempt from having to deal with…"

"Thanks Chris, I will look into creating a mypage here on the website. As far as the design of the airframe and propulsion requirements, it's something that the students will have to design given the requirements of the mission, i.e. to fly for 15-20…"

"Jay, I just fixed the problem how foolish of me; I forgot to add the "IMU" so that it reads Debug.dec(IMU.get_angle_pictch). I am now able to see a reading on the serial terminal, however the number reads about -1022951427 which doesn't make sense.…"
