Building Possibly My Last Multicopter
I left the hobby in 2022 after the crash of my Tarot Ironman due to a propeller blade separation resulting in complete destruction of the aircraft. Since then I have been flying an old DJI MAvic Pro that I bought used from a photographer who wanted to upgrade. Anyway, recently l've thought about wanting to build one more multicopter. I enjoyed the challenges of building one plus the satisfaction of flying something I built. So I decided to once again embark on a build project. My needs…

Mine also, I had to reinstall.
Suddenly mission planner is crashing on startup with my win 7 laptop after latest update. Anyone else?
Since APM 2.6 is sold without a compass, I would appreciate a list of what you can and what you cannot do with or without a compass.
Like without a compass, I have been flying on stabilized and althold modes very comfortably.
But can I do loiter, can I do waypoints, can I fly in simple or super simple mode without a compass ?
Thx

Parallel batteries Test
I'm looking at batteries for my Std RTF X8. It comes with a 3500mAh 3S 30 and I'm wondering if I can use a 6000mAh 3S 25-50C to stretch flight time. eCalc seems to think it's in spec, but I'm wondering if the group here has any input.
hello ,
my 2.6kg quad use 4 rctimer 4215 + 12x5.5 + 40A esc + 6s

the first fligh was qood without Wind i think i have to adjust other rate_
how can i make it more stable with Wind ? is tuning pids only needed ?

Alware has its Swing 2 axis gimbal. Includes arch landing gear and the camera platform is (about) 4 x 3 inches. I use one on a F550 hex and can set the platform from horizontal to perpendicular with the pot knob on my Futaba 7C. It has about 120 degrees of movement in pitch axis -so it still stabilizes when facing forward or down. It can be bolted flat to the base of the airframe or on 1.25 in standoffs ( included). You can look at one on the Alware site and I think IntelligentUAS carries them too.
I have a flight mode switch set to Circle and was hoping to assign the radius to a dial on my TX. This is a great feature for video for panaromic or circling a video target but it would be nice if you could control the radius from the TX when flying. Currently I think the only way is to change the "Circle Radius" from the laptop connection. If there is not a way, can maybe this be added to the Channel 7 or 8 assignment options?
Running ArduCopter 3.01 on 3DR's Y6 with Gopro 3 and Tarrot Gimbal. Currently producing beautiful stable videos.....
Thanks in advance for any assistance ...
