Hi AllPurchased a FlyPro X600 and I am trying to sort out what would be the most suitable camera to use for FPV and some video/stills photography. The supplier has wired it up for a GoPro 3. That model is a little out of date but a good camera to start with although if I am going to purchase a camera I would like to only spend on a one of that last for sometime. Actually I use a HD camera with a Teradek HDMI encoder and decoder. The Nanostation provides 600mW 5.8GHz legally over 802.11n

I am guessing that you are using a bullet in your plane http://www.ubnt.com/airmax#bulletm and maybe for the ground station as well with a directional antenna.
However look at these IP cameras that could work with this:

Yes, I am interested in both extending the range by using one as a relay at altitude for OTH and for multiple (swarm) aircraft control. The other thing is to use the same mesh hardware to provide backup radio/cellular comms in disaster areas aka SARS operations in remote areas. Even simple and low bandwidth SMS type messages can save lives/help. The intention is to really bring the cost down to a "disposable" level <$200 including airframe. Plus by using a swarm (similar to the SKA principles), passiv weather and even ground radar can be achieved using the SDR radios, simply by monitoring background EMF from any other radio source. Each GPS located UAV can then send back triangulation information for mapping etc. Current mobile phone processing power (and linux based OS) can easily achieve the required calculations, even on board the UAV, and can provide a web server interface to any in range mobile handsets with a web browser...no software, drivers etc to install to make it work!

Could you please share what Wireless N (5.8GHz) hardware you are using? It might be a good starting point, depending on cost.
Hai Tran - I think there was a conversation a while ago about this however model aircraft UAVs which we run must fly in line of sight. The MAAA have these - http://www.maaa.asn.au/maaa/mop.html - they are pretty restrictive.
Can you run through your WiFi setup? I sounds just the ticket

I am VERY interested in MESH comms as I see this as a way to get sufficient range for the challenge and stay legal. Can we talk on this - I have a background in Radio so I might be able to understand 5% of what you say.
