Hi AllPurchased a FlyPro X600 and I am trying to sort out what would be the most suitable camera to use for FPV and some video/stills photography. The supplier has wired it up for a GoPro 3. That model is a little out of date but a good camera to start with although if I am going to purchase a camera I would like to only spend on a one of that last for sometime. Hopefully it's a winner. I am looking for a plane with very long flight times for a project I am working on. Hand launch it also required. I wish it had a plastic fuse like my FPV raptor, but you can't have everything!
I'm not sure about motor setup yet. Was just thinking of a 3S setup with an E-flite power10, but the 6S setup that Wayne is testing is a possibility. I'll see what works best.
What motor are you planning to use?
I think in any airframe, putting the APM near the CoG is the way to go. I've tried various locations in my old Bixler, but that worked best.
I have my Penguin. It looks awesome. I have done a short video on the comparison between it and the Bixler 2. Will post it soon.
In the meantime where did you put your APM? I am eyeing the spot over the downward camera dome however I am not sure if you really need to eyeball the APM. I think that I will be able to see it down through the hole in the canopy floor.
Any thoughts on positioning? In the position I am thinking of the APM will be down low almost on the CG.
Hey Guys whats up? Anything happening?
No plans yet for the weekend. Where will we go? Let me know!
No probs...I take everyone's advice with a grain of salt anyway! ;)
But I have a sneaking suspicion that you might be right. The new version of APM ie the 2.5 looks like a better deal anyways...first adopter's always pay the price.
