Talk about the 3DR Solo quadcopter
4K Action Camera Wifi WiMiUS L3 2.45'' LCD Touch Screen $42 off
There is a lot to like about the WiMius L3 16MP 4K Action Cam as it's undoubtedly a worthy competitor to the GoPro at a sharp fraction of the price. It's simply amazing what they were able to do in such a tight package. It does 4k video , 60fps 1080p video, has a webcam mode which would be used on youtube if necessary, comes with a variety of different accessories like the go pro which includes the signature case and many many other cool things as well. I use a program called Bandicam I was…

Does anyone know if while in flight the gopro can be switched from video to photo mode?
Finally got my Solo along with a GoPro Hero4, and first ever drone and GoPro I have ever had or used. Was up till 3am charging, reading, configuring, etc. getting ready for the next day. What can I say, it was an absolute delight to fly with no flight issues at all. Learned you just have to put it on the level ground, leave Solo alone and wait for GPS lock, and your ready to go. Was not too bad even if I had only one flight battery = ~1.5h to charge, so it made it for a long day but got 3 flights in. First impressions from a new drone owner is I absolutely love it. I'm a photographer and cannot wait to get some awesome footage.
Pros:
easy to fly
excellent design, looks adaptable in the future
love the controller and 'home', immediate land functions, and 'pause'!
Cons:
Cannot find a flight battery anywhere
No gimbal anywhere to be found
Lost live video feed on 2nd flight on both my android phone and tablet, still trying to figure this one out. Worked when I ran the software update before anything else so it's up-to-date. Worked on first flight then...?
Overall, very impressed and one happy flyer, now to get that dad burn video feed working somehow and I'll be back today.
On a note, I sent her up 'high', lost control link and my heart sank. Well, Solo sitting way up there with 25% battery and draining fast, I held the 'fly' button trying to regain control. Finally got a control link and got her down as fast as I could, landed with 10% flight battery. Dang!
Cheers,
Chip Luck

Waiting on the weather to clear up to run some comparison tests...(Gimbal comparisons will have to be held off the time being...for obvious reasons)
Walkera make an awesome gimble that's really cheap. Does Solo come with a GoPro interface?
As for PixHawk, learn to backup the parameters before you alter anything.
Why is it taking so long to produce the gimble??

And that's just the beginning... There is so much can be done with the Co-computer as well... Tried Drone kit?
So many possibilities!
Without sounding impolite how does Solo fitting to the DIY category. One of the innate problems with out-of-the-box UAV solutions are issues like this.
Best of luck.
Anyone know if the Flight Simulator accessible yet? Or I was it simply a great idea that may never come to fruition?
First solo flight tonight. Overall very impressed and happy with it's performance. It only takes a couple minutes to get into the air. Very stable and latency was surprisingly low. I can already see the need for upgraded antennas as it was pretty easy to reach maximum range.
Now to get more batteries and put this thing to work!
