Justin H. replied to Ilia's discussion iris+ flyaway in IRIS
"Sorry to hear about the loss. Did you have any flight plans loaded? Maybe plot a line from your incident to the home coordinates of your last arming or flight plan and look about 2 miles out for the Iris...
Losing GPS in flight is definitely weird.…"

Justin H. commented on lhl's blog post Aeriel Cinematography - Build or Buy
"This has worked out great with Pixhawk, 15" props and a 10,000 mAh 6S, with at least 1.5 kg of payload, and could be made into an X8 that still folds down. This is for mapping though, and with a 660mm frame (or the one shown at 800mm), it doesn't…"

Justin H. commented on Thomas J Coyle III's blog post Drone Racing Might Just Be The Next Big Thing
"I don't know about all that drama and fpv racing as a commercial thing, but they are so damn fun to fly I can't tell you. It will put your flying confidence (and PID tuning) on a whole different level once you fly these things a few dozen times. A…"

Justin H. replied to Michael Doornbos's discussion GPS Altitude? in IRIS
"External compass/GPS antenna with the standard 3DR ublox was the 2nd-best mod I've done to the Iris+, the 10" CF props being first by a hair. It doesn't help with the barometer obviously, but GPS lock was quicker, HDOP improved, the "seeking"…"

Justin H. replied to Raul Negrete's discussion Is it true that 3DR is phasing out IRIS+ in IRIS
"I couldn't be happier with mine, love it. I would buy an IRIS V2 in a heartbeat, but I'm not a Solo customer. It wouldn't take much to make a new version of the IRIS a killer, lower-cost, DIY-friendly alternative to the Matrice:

10" props

Justin H. replied to Justin H.'s discussion FAA N Number, Notary clarification in IRIS
"Thank you, that sure makes more sense then requiring manufacturers to provide something for every commercial craft they sell."

"Unless when they say "applicant", meaning me, they mean I can just take my user's manual to get Notarized?"

Justin H. posted a discussion in IRIS
Does anyone have an N number for their IRIS yet? I've come across an issue that's stumping me.To fly commercially, one needs a 333, a COA, and a registered aircraft with an N number (among other things). You cannot currently apply for a COA without…
