"Hi Oyvind
I'm wondering how you've gone with developing a radar altimeter for UAVS?
How does cost, weight, range, accuracy compare with sonar and lidar currently available?
Cheers
Mike"
"It's not technically needed - I have flown in auto without an airspeed sensor. If there is enough stall margin as you say you won't have too many issues, and the APM can rely on ground speed from the GPS. If there is a high-wind, or more complex…"
"Ah ok, that would explain it!
I'm running V3.4.0 - I'm guessing this is the latest APM supported firmware? When I installed the latest firmware from Mission Planner I assumed it went to the latest firmware V3.5.3
Time to upgrade I think.."
"Hi @timpittenger, @tridge,
I'm having some trouble setting up the reverse thrust function on APM 2.5.
The reverse function on the ESC is working fine and I have set zero-point to 1500.
I have set RC3_TRIM to 1500, and THR_MIN to -100. I could not…"
"@tompittenger
Great stuff with the reverse thrust feature!
Do you set your transmitter throttle range from 1500 to 2000 (for example) to ensure that full stick down does not engage reverse thrust?
If so, is there a way to manually engage reverse…"
"Hi Tridge - sorry to hear about the crash, but looks like you've got to the bottom of it, and will have a better solution going forward. As always it's better to discover these issues during testing rather than in the competition!
I was wondering if…"
"Hi Stephen - that's a very kind offer, thanks a lot!
If it's easier for you perhaps you could just send the SD card across, or maybe copy the file system image from the SD card and upload it?
Otherwise if you're happy I can reimburse you for the…"
Many things for having a look at this and for your suggestion.
I have done the following:
-removed the original previously installed libjpeg-turbo (sudo rm -rf <folder>)
-followed tridges steps above
-note I had to use: sudo sh -c "echo…"
"OK... now I have installed libjpeg_turbo-1.3.1 which I got from the sourceforge page.
I am no able to compile cuav v1.3.2 successfully, and I see the cuav-1.3.2-py2.7-linux-armv6l.egg in the /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages folder.
"Further to the above comment - I read another of Stephen Gloor's comments, and have installed the ldc1394 module with the following command (sude get-apt install libdc1394-22-dev).
Now the setup of the CUAV module gets stuck on the compilation of…"
I have the CUAV modules working on my Windows PC, and they work great. I am trying to integrate this system into our Raspberry Pi but I'm having some problems.
I followed the steps that you outlined above, and it all works fine (except…"
"I'm also very interested in this added scripting functionality.
Additionally I'm wondering is it possible to add custom commands to the Mission Planner? It says these can be modified in the MAVLink Parameters Window, but I can't seem to find this.…"
