Thomas Bögel replied to Thomas Bögel's discussion 3DR Radio gails to go into command mode in Mission Planner
"OK, did that, and I can see both radios now (see screenshot).
FW-versions seems to be matching (...right?)

But I still get the problem in Mission Planner.Screenshot000002.jpg"

"OK,I have to do 4 and 5. I am not sure what FW the remote has, for I never have been able to connect to it.

Thanks so far, I will post what came off it."

"Thanks!
But I still have a problem:
I can see the settings for the local radio fine, but not for the remote. When I switch on the remote radio, I am no longer able to get into command mode on the local radio. Is this normal?"

Hi folks, does anyone have this same problem? My 3DR radio (433MHz) works fine, the link from my PC to the APM is good. However, I cannot read the radio settings in MP, after a couple of minutes "Connecting..." I get the message "Failed to go into…

"Not necessarily.
Usually you use Props with the same size, but different pitch. The upper blade sould have good zero-speed abilities, but the lower one is in the air stream, so you want to compensate this by more pitch.
Since it is not all that easy…"

"It is not an evolution, but a separate development.
Ususally, a fixed pitch coax setup is calculated at 1.6x the single rotor version. Meaning that 2 rotors side by side provide a lift factor of 2 - in co-axial mode only 1.6. There are quite a…"

The other pics of the Fold-Down are in the Armokopter forum."

"Oh, almost forgot:
I am using the Armokopter board on this one.
BLCs are from hobbycity. I won't use those again - they are cheap ($13 each), but quite pooly done. One needs to remove the BEC-parts and reroute 2 signals to the Atmel. I did 8 so far,…"

"As you can see, I didn't quite follow Jose's design. I do have some experience with sheet material frames, and this size would mean that there is a substantial amount of vibration from the motors.
So I went with the standard centerplates…"

"Well, mine is finished ad flies great so far. I do need to fiddle with the parameters a bit, and GPS is not installed yet (I need do calibrate the compass again and did not have the time do to so yet - due to bad weather mostly)."

But there already is such a system (more than one, in fact):
Both the Mikrokopter and the Armokopter consist of one PCB for sensors and controller, and have separate BLCs (in case of the Armokopter even off-the-shelf china BLCs that have…"

Thomas Bögel replied to Anders Brenna's discussion What UAV is this?
"A couple of years back we went to visit the company.

The advantage of this device is that it is quite easy to fly - it has some built-in limitations to keep the pilot from causing incontrollable situations. Like a maximum tilt angle.
However, the…"

"On a quad, you can get up to 2200g with stock parts, but then you would end up with 10-12min of flying time only. I did that with one of my first quads, using AXI 2217/16 and APC SF 12x6" props.
<---- not this one.

The problem is to get usable…"

Hi all.I was wondering if you where aware of the multi rotor platforms as sensor carriers. They have a profile mostly like a helicopter (as opposed to a fixed wing platform), but are much easier to control. So, if hovering in one spot is your goal,…
