david albert commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Procerus shows off their new quadcopter at AUVSI
"Just curious, have any of you flown the DJI S800 with Wookong and Zenmuse?  I was lucky enough to try one and I would put money on it if you did a multicopter Procerus shootout.

david albert commented on Chris Anderson's blog post 6,000+ members of DIY Drones!
"Congrats! That is really an awesome achievement! To be honest, when you first advertised your site on RCGROUPS a few years ago, I didn't think it would last long. I am glad I was wrong! Good job!

"Just another note, you were saying something about antennas in the wings, don't forget to consider the possibility of cross polarization and resulting attenuation. You may need to have your stick pointed up. And...something else that we have done is…"

"I believe I may be the fire fighter that was mentioned earlier in this thread. I work for Miami Dade Fire Rescue and I have proposed the idea to our department. Although there were high levels of optimism, ultimately it boiled down to the CoA. As…"

"Wow, I am suprised he acted this way. Didn't you do an interview with him a few months ago? I can't imagine what he was thinking considering the audience you have.

"Electric Kadet Senior is good too. Axi 4120/18 with a 14"x7" prop, 5S lipo of about 5000mAh to 10,000mAh capacity and a good 80amp Esc. I like Castle's HV-85, it doesn't even get warm. :) For similar performance on a smaller scale, the Herr Cloud…"

david albert replied to Guru's discussion Building a more durable UAV
"An inexpensive way to build a composite vehicle is to cut one out of foam. Once you have an airframe that meets your design goals (I highly doubt it will be your first attempt) cover the proven foam aircraft with 2oz glass and minimal amount of…"

I have an emergency project and I need your help. I am putting a presentation together for the fire department where I work on UAVs. I need info or links as to why UAVs are better than manned vehicles. Specifically, I remember some aircraft crashing…

I was curious to know how many of you are members of AUVSI. It seems that is the professional organization to join if you are serious about this hobby. I have been a member for two years, but seldom see or hear it mentioned. I was also curious what…
