About Me:

WWW.BULLDOGPI.COM Quite a bit of information about myself, my company, and my opinions can be found on the webpage.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I am a private investigator and the president of a private security services company, Bulldog Investigations and Security LLC. Virginia License #11-6038 My professional background is a bit unusual for the private security and investigation industry, but the skills aquired during employment as the former technology director of a Pennsylvania school district have proven priceless in this field. Instinct and old fashioned detective work remain at the heart of Private investigation, but Internet databases and dramatic changes in photographic technologies have majorily impacted the industry. The winds of change are blowing yet once again, both for myself as well as my profession. 'Drones'as the media tends to call them, are not just a passing fad. The world that we live in, will for better or for worse, undergo a transformation not seen since the introduction of the personal computer. Unmanned vehicle systems will impact private industry, law enforcement, and our lives in ways we are only beginning to understand. I intend to capitalize on those opportunities. I initially joined AUVSI in 2010 with the intention of networking with robotic engineers, and other interested parties. On March 12, 2012, after lengthy consideration and research, a major decision was made: Bulldog Investigations is now undergoing a restructuring centered around these new approaches to age old problems. An interesting road lies ahead for those of us brave enough to venture out into this new territory. James Pollock Bulldog Investigations and Security

James Pollock commented on Caroline Rees's blog post Aerial Robotics Industry Association (ARIA) Created
""This sounds more like an advertisement for a business venture not a real "industry association".  Besides, we already have a good industry association in AUVSI."

I majorly disagree.  AUVSI seems solely focused on representing their "Diamond…"

"I personally find the Gopro too 'wide angle' for the types of images I'd like to obtain.  I'm also looking for a high megapixel resolution so I can "Zoom" in on a photo's area of particular interest to me.
I'm also more focused on images then video…"

James Pollock commented on Chris Anderson's blog post New Hampshire considering aerial photography ban
""Although the bill seeks to protect residents from being spied on or documented, it very clearly excludes government officials who may use drones for official business."

James Pollock commented on Chris Anderson's blog post AUVSI publishes drones "Code of Conduct"
"Actually, I've been on the busy side and didn't intitially read Chris Anderson's inquiry regarding others thoughts on this issue.  In way of response, I actually have some very genuine concerns and questions regarding AUVSI's stance.
For the…"

I know that this isn't about 'props' but it is closely related.... My buddy and I have a Innov8tions Designs 650 Nm quad with cobra motors and a Quadrino board.  It's a true beast of a machine... that frame is built (maybe too built, concerned it…

Although I don't want to trivialize the many other aspects of 'drones', they are essentially flying platforms to which we intend to mount aerial cameras.   Therefore, I'd like to start talking a bit more about the camera side of the…
