John Baldiga replied to John Baldiga's discussion Spektrum AR6210 satellite receiver failsafe.
"Solved!

The Spektrum remote receiver sends NO signals when the tx is turned off.

The pixhawk can detect "no incoming data" then that's how it knows it's in failsafe mode."

John Baldiga replied to John Baldiga's discussion Spektrum AR6210 satellite receiver failsafe.
"Unfortunately, I can't find the documentation that had the solution. It's been a long time since I used the satellite receiver.

If I remember correctly, it appeared as though the receiver would maintain the throttle signal even though it wasn't,…"

John Baldiga replied to John Baldiga's discussion Tricopter dead drop crash (video)... Can someone please help me figure out why this happened?
"In case anyone was wondering... My props were too weak. I was using 12x3.8 and I should be using 13x6. I installed some 12x6 props and it recovers fine now."

John Baldiga replied to xoltri's discussion Pixhawk causing motor sync issues.
"I posted this elsewhere with no responses. I'm hoping someone in this thread can help me.

I too am using Afro 30A ESCs with my Pixhawk. I had a crash and I can't tell if it was a motor sync issue or not.

John Baldiga commented on Pedals2Paddles's blog post Woman who assaulted CT UAV operator given probabation that concludes with no criminal record or pusnishment
"In my opinion, any person (male or female) that resorts to physical assault without a reasonable expectation of personal harm should serve some jail time.

Obviously, they would need to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Which it was, thanks to the…"

John Baldiga replied to Arshish Maneckji's discussion OUCH! - 4 Inch cut in Forearm with Stitches: Stupid Pilot Mistake or Bug??
"That's the spirit!
I was back in the air while I still had stitches in my hands. (I took maybe a 3 day break)
If I had known that red, blue, green rapid flashing meant ESC calibration mode, this wouldn't have happened.
I noticed the Iris's status…"

John Baldiga commented on Crady von Pawlak's photo
"I'm thinking of doing something similar. How is your stability with the gimbal being so far forward? Also, are you having any camera pan trouble because the gimbal 3rd axis isn't aligned with the drones yaw axis?"

John Baldiga replied to Arshish Maneckji's discussion OUCH! - 4 Inch cut in Forearm with Stitches: Stupid Pilot Mistake or Bug??
"I feel you man. I had something similar happen to me. When I upgraded my Pixhawk arducopter firmware my RC3_REV parameter *"~magically~"* changed. The quad was entering ESC calibration mode at startup and I had no idea.

John Baldiga replied to David Antwis's discussion Pixhawk With V-Tail Quadcopter???
