Dedadz replied to Chris Anderson's discussion Discussion forum for Sparkfun 3-axis IMU-based autopilot board
"Chris, I purchased a Windows 7 64-bit system recently and tried my best to find the correct drivers. Microchip has been trying for a long time to obsolete the ICD2 and doesn't support it anymore. Olimex wasn't any more of a help. I ended…"

"Jack, Great photography! You really piqued my interest so I took a drive over there today. I've taken numerous classes at Stanford over the years and never realized they had this gem hidden away so well on campus. I explored every possible…"

Dedadz replied to Chris Anderson's discussion Discussion forum for Sparkfun 3-axis IMU-based autopilot board
"Bill, I'm wondering if the PIC CMOS input levels are also required for the 406 GPS on the serial channel. According to the 406 spec, the outputs are TTL (0-2.85V). This may be a systematic problem with both the receivers and the GPS. I'll…"

Dedadz replied to David Sprague's discussion Project 10 - Telemetry data sent in Vertical Blanking Interval of a video signal
"Jordi, I understand the problem - frequency bands. I'm running 2.4G Tx, 1.3G video, and 900M for the Xbee's. I have my Amateur FCC Technical licence (KG6ZLS) so I can use 1.3G in the US. As Sarel mentioned, you can run multiple Xbees at…"

Dedadz replied to David Sprague's discussion Project 10 - Telemetry data sent in Vertical Blanking Interval of a video signal
"Chris, All I'm saying is keep the system simple and efficient. Having an independant video path is very clean. With the current system, if you want to add video/FPV/OSD, go for it. If you don't want to put video on the plane, that's…"

Dedadz replied to David Sprague's discussion Project 10 - Telemetry data sent in Vertical Blanking Interval of a video signal
"Jordi, Why add the complexity when you can get the necessary data using the serial links for just 40 bytes of data? You wouldn't have to worry about PAL/NTSC compatibility or mucking with the OSD and video. -Dedadz"

Dedadz replied to David Sprague's discussion Project 10 - Telemetry data sent in Vertical Blanking Interval of a video signal
"I really think in the long run it will be necessary to have a bidirectional telemetry link (channel). Instead of using the unidirectional path of the video link, why not concentrate on establishing an efficient protocal with the serial ports.…"
